The Plane Game - Travel Essentials Part 2

Once again, my day is consisting of multiple flights across three different states for over seven hours, sounds fun, right? Recently I've been travelling a fair bit, which means I've kinda mastered the art of packing, except the not-leaving-it-til-the-last-minute part. So basically I have three big rules on travel attire, and you'd be stupid not to follow them:

Keep it neutral: When you're travelling you want to pack the absolute minimum, which means you should opt for items that you can mix-and-match. Choose items in a neutral colour scheme to rule out any possible colour clashes in your wardrobe. My general rule of thumb is: dark bottoms and white or grey tops. This means you can pick any two items out of your suitcase and will be ready to walk out the door, which means more time can be spent sleeping, or enjoying your trip.

Comfort is key: You should prioritise comfort, especially while travelling to your destination, because literally nobody in the airport cares if you're wearing sky-high heels if you miss your flight because you can't run to your gate. This rule is vital when it comes to shoe choice, flat boots, sneakers or Converse shoes are my top picks because you're super comfortable without looking like a slob. Trust me when I say you want to choose appropriate shoes, I've literally lost count of how many times I've been denied access to the Qantas lounge because I was stupid enough to wear thongs. Just don't do it.

A great fitting t-shirt is your best asset: T-shirts are my holy grail when it comes to travelling, and for good reason. A plain white t-shirt is the perfect airport outfit because A) it doesn't have any metal hardware (e.g buttons/cufflinks) that will set off security sensors and B) they're ridiculously comfy without looking slobbish. If you're going to rock the t-shirt look, make sure you opt for a nicely fitting shirt that isn't too tight and is made of a quality fabric, trust me, it'll make you look like an off-duty supermodel, rather than someone who just rolled out of bed.
