Vintage Fashion – Your Festival Fashion Hit List

Now that I have finally managed to tear myself away from the Coachella Snapchat feed (oh my goodness how gorgeous?!) it’s high time we started thinking about festival wear for 2016.

Festivals have become a lot more than just music, and are now up there with the likes of The Oscars and Ladies Day in the style spotting stakes. But lets not forget that you are going to be in muddy fields and grim public toilets, so as much as style is key there is also a little thing called practicality!

It’s easy to get carried away being all festival and crazy, wearing every single trend at the same time. Not only are you going to wind up looking ridiculous, but suddenly you’ve become ‘festival girl’ and lost your individuality and essence.

Well worry no more, My Vintage are here to rescue you! We have some great hints and tips for must-have festival fashion with a unique vintage style edge…

First up, a pair of great sunglasses is an absolute essential. We have some amazing vintage sunglasses that you’ll love no matter what you’re wearing…

Retro 50s Style Cream Cats Eye Sunglasses – £15

These vintage style sunglasses have maximum 50s appeal with their awesome cream plastic cats eye frames. These look amazing with anything from your 1950s retro dresses, to just a simple pair of denim shorts and a cool slogan tee.

Speaking of denim, a good denim jacket is a great purchase for festivals. Not a sweaty as a leather jacket but still one of those dependable old favourites that will see you through for many years.

Vintage Inspired Denim Jacket – £38

This vintage style denim jacket has a great mix of modern and bygone appeal. Go double denim or wear with your swing dresses and wellies – you simply can’t go wrong!

A cropped denim jacket is also great with a long flowing maxi dress, and we have a great new one that’s just arrived in an awesome bright and kitsch pineapple print…

70s Inspired Pineapple Print Maxi Dress – £42

What’s not to love about this beauty?! Long, flowing and utterly gorgeous; it also has two cheeky splits at the front so you can still show a bit of leg. Not only would this be fantastic for festival wear, it’s also a great holiday item that you could throw on over your swimsuit to head to the cocktail bar!

Another absolute essential for your summer festival trip is a good hat to protect you from the sun whilst still looking uber cool. We’ve got just the thing for you, that also gives a nod to the 1970’s trend that’s huge right now…

1970s True Vintage Straw Hat – £24

This true vintage hat is in great condition to see you through for many years to come and also has a pretty fabric trim. Why not change the look to match your outfit by tying a vintage scarf around the hat for an instant bespoke trim? We love it!

So now you’ve got your clothes and headgear sorted, there’s just one more festival essential that every woman needs. A cool and practical bag!

1970s Vintage Rattan Shopper Bag – £12

This fantastic 1970s vintage rattan bag just oozes boho charm. The stretchy rattan weave is lined inside and gives you plenty of room for all your fesival or day trip essentials without breaking your back! It’s a snip at £12 and will go with absolutely anything and everything. You also get to be particularly smug when you’re asked where you got your amazing bag from by simply smiling and saying “It’s vintage”…

That completes our round up of festival essentials from My Vintage. As you know, we have thousands more items from original unique vintage to modern reproduction in a range of sizes; so there’s always something waiting for you either in our shop or on our website.

As always, if you need any help finding that perfect vintage piece, all you have to do is call into our vintage shop or drop me an email on [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help.

Until next time!
