Vintage Fashion Trend Spotlight AW17 – Sparkle and Shimmer

Sequins, shimmers and sparkles are the way forward and that’s especially relevant to me as I love glitz and glamour! The feeling of being all dressed up is amazing because you can really go to town with your hair, makeup and accessories too.

I’ve picked out some sparkly and glitzy vintage fashion from My Vintage, making sure you are on trend for the party season ahead.

Vintage Betsey Johnson Sequin Party Dress

Vintage Louis Feraud Sequin Jacket

I’ve selected this glorious 1980s vintage jacket from designer Louis Feraud for my second pick…

I love how unusual this jacket is. The monochrome polka dot fabric is covered in transparent sequins. As a result of this, the jacket has a ‘wet look’ similar to Saint Laurent’s offerings for this season. This stunning jacket is approximately a modern day UK size 12/14 and currently available for purchase on our website.

Oleg Cassini Vintage Sequin Cocktail Dress

I couldn’t choose a collection of sparkly evening wear without including this next beauty from the very collectable and luxe label Oleg Cassini…

Stunning right? It must be one of my absolute favourite vintage dresses of all time! Every part of this ultra glamorous dress is encrusted with beads and sequins. This is a very special piece of designer vintage fashion while being completely timeless. It is a heavy dress due to the amount of beading which makes the movement just perfect.

Vintage Frank Usher Multi Colour Sequin Top

I wanted to add a little more colour to this edit and therefore picked this Vintage Frank Usher top…

This looks great with skinny jeans and heels and if you don’t want to wear a dress, this is the perfect evening outfit. Most of all I love the bright colours against the black and the long sleeves. Originally from the 1980s, this vintage top can be purchased on our website.
