Top Five Fab Vintage Style Floral Frocks

Some prints simply never date, the best examples would have to be polka dots, gingham and of course classic florals. Whether it’s a ditsy daisy print or a bright and bold hibiscus, we always have an array of botanical of prints here at My Vintage. I’ve picked out my current top five favourites for your delectation from our current selection of Vintage Style dresses…

5. 1950s Inspired Dark Hibiscus Swing Dress (various sizes)

This delightful 50s style swing dress has a black background with a gorgeous array of tropical hibiscus florals in shades of deep red, khaki green and light brown. Made from a high quality linen fabric, this dress can also be worn with net petticoat underneath. Furthermore, the warm muted tones are absolutely perfect for the autumn. This classic vintage style swing dress can be worn daytime or evening depending how you accessorise it.

4. Vintage Style Pretty Grey Floral Tea Dress (various sizes)

I absolutely love this vintage style tea dress, in light grey with delicate floral print. The chiffon style fabric and the pleated bust detail both fondly remind me of Liesl from The Sound of Music (you remember the scene). It is floaty and feminine, perfect for everything from afternoon tea to a friend’s wedding. If you prefer a little enhancement at the bust then the shaping of this vintage style dress will also give you just that.

3. 40s/50s Vintage Style Peony Print Wiggle Dress (various sizes)

If you prefer a tighter dress that will give you that perfect pin-up look then this is the one for you! This vintage style wiggle dress takes inspiration from both the 1940s and the 1950s and is just so pretty in shades of pink and turquoise. The black background is a great contrast to the cream and the brightly coloured peonies and also offers a great palette to match shoes and accessories with. Figure hugging in all the right places, this is certainly a foxy floral find!

2. Cute Vintage Style Green Hibiscus Mini Dress (various sizes)

Taking our number two spot is this glorious Hell Bunny vintage style dress in a shorter length. The pale pistachio green is complimented perfectly by the cream, scarlet and deep green hibiscus print. This gives that tropical feel without making the dress too summery. The shorter length is ideal for our petite customers and if you are a little taller then it also looks great worn with tights or leggings. This gorgeous dress also has multiway straps that can be unbuttoned and worn in different ways. Perfect!

1. 1950s Vintage Style Poppy Print Swing Dress (various sizes)

And finally, taking the top spot, it’s this glorious poppy print retro dress. I love how the straight Bardot neckline creates a balance with the full swing skirt. Like most of our swing dresses, this is a full circle skirt so a net petticoat can happily sit underneath if you would like it to. We would probably go for a red one for maximum impact!
