Review - Bottega Verde Argan Oil

I have been wanting to try Argan oil after having great experience with other pure oils (Tamanu oil, Rosehip oil and sweet almond oil)... so Argan oil was on my "To-Try-oils" list.

So I'm excited to try out Bottega Verde Argan oil because there are a lot of great review on the brand (not much review of peoples using this as facial oil - mostly were used on hair~).

Argan oil
  • Argan oil is rich in vitamin A and vitamin E; it also packs antioxidants, Omega-6 fatty acids, Omega-3 fatty acids, and linoleic acid.
  • Regulates the production of sebum which will help to prevent breakouts.
Argan oil actually soothes afflicted skin and promotes healing. Acne is often the result of oily skin. Since argan oil is non-greasy, it helps to balance skin by providing natural moisture. Argan oil also contains anti-oxidants which help to heal damaged skin cells and reduce inflammation.
Its anti-oxidant effect makes argan oil the ideal anti-aging product.
  • High vitamin E and fatty acid content, argan oil is the ideal product to give skin a natural boost... fade scars and smooth out the skin’s texture
  • give skin a youthful glow and reduce the visibility of wrinkles.
  • It restores elasticity and leaves skin feeling plumper and softer.
  • It absorbs easily and is non-greasy and non-irritating
  • It is also great for hot weather, helping alleviate sunburn skin and dry skin.
  • Suitable for most skin types

Agran oil feel really silky on the skin and the oil feel pretty thin
(not as thick and rich as compare to tamanu oil).

Scent wise - it's nutty and not as herbal or strong as compare to tamanu oil.

The oil feel really nice on the skin... soothing and doesn't cause any break-out

Work well with the skincare products that I was using....

The oil absorbed really well (if I'm using like 2 or 3 drops.. my skin will suck the oil up really fast that it doesn't feel oily nor look oily.. but 2/3 drops was not enough on my dry skin... I need more! lolx)

So I finished up this bottle in about a month.... my skin look brighter (pure oils does helps to enhance the skincare products that you are using.. so how my skin look might have some great doing on the cream and serum that I'm using... oils just enhance it)

Doesn't cause any break-up, didn't clog my pores and my skin feel nice and smooth...

Hydrating but a little weak if you have very dry skin...

I have dry skin, so I use oil on the last step of my skincare routine.
For those who produce more oils... use pure oil as the first step to balance out your skin oil first then follow up with your usual skincare products.

I have weak skin where the dead skin wasn't strong enough to shed off totally by itself before new skin cell pop out .. so I will have a cycle of having thick dry skin on area that are pretty weak. I do noticed that my skin is getting better.

My skin feels stronger as I don't have itchy skin as often ... the dryness level are getting better.

Redness also reducing.. but I still have to face the cycle of "dryness" every few weeks... BUT I'm happy the dryness is getting better and lesser flakey skin!!! (I just need to strengthen my skin health and immune system)

When you have rough patches on the skin and they feel itchy (on sensitive skin)... it might be your skin is weak and not because of clogging .. do not try to exfoliate as it will further weaken your skin and cause more damaging. Feed your skin with nutrients and strengthen it first... that's what I'm doing now and it's slow but working.

When I first try out this Argan oil (add into my skincare routine) that was like back in March (2017).. I add like 3 drops into the mixture of sweet almond oil (5drops) and tamanu oil (2 drops).

I didn't feel much different, maybe it's a small "dose"... so after using for like a month...  I stop using it....

Then sometimes in late June... I decided to just focusing on using ONE pure oil at a time (no mixing of different oils to see which oils work the best on my skin condition).

So I decided to start using Argan oil and this time round I use a lot - ONE full dropper of amount (which was about 15-20 drops) .

Skincare routine :
Vichy Thermal mist, serum, eye cream, cream and end up with a thick layer of argan oil.

I love having oil on skin, as my skin always feel dry and tight at night... having a thick layer of oil on my face feel really nice and soothing.

Overall, I enjoy using Argan oil, I have another bottle of Argan oil from another brand (Majestic Pure)...

I will rotate back to using Argan oil after I finish up the bottle of Radha beauty Rosehip oil.

Argan Oil
Linoleic acid – 37%
Linolenic acid – Oleic acid – 43%
Comedogenic Rating – 0

On comedogenic ratings:
  • An oil that has a comedogenic rating of 0 is widely believed to be non comedogenic and will not clog your pores.
  • A comedogenic rating of 1 signifies a slight chance that the oil will clog your pores.
  • A comedogenic rating of 2 tells you that the oil will not clog pores for MOST people, but some will begin to notice clogged pores or a “purge” in some cases.
  • A comedogenic rating of 3 is where a lot of people will break out using this oil, but a lot of people may not break out depending on their skin type.
  • A comedogenic rating of 4 suggests that MOST people will break out using this oil unless they have a good tolerance to it. This largely depends on a number of skin type factors.
  • A comedogenic rating of 5 is basically a guaranteed chance of breaking out. Very very few people can tolerate oils labeled as a 5, but they do exist!

Check out this site that have a lot of information on a various of pure oils (I like to refer to this page to learn more about each type of pure oils that I wanna try before googles on the benefit)

If my memory never fail me,
