Weekend escape in Vienna

Sightseeing in Vienna

So sad that my weekend escape in Vienna is already over! Vienna is a city that I love and the atmosphere that surrounded me during this weekend was pure magic! You should know that all the Christmas markets already started in Vienna! My favorite one? Definitely the one at the Rathaus, the Christkindlmarkt! The iceskating rink is huge and it really seems you're in Winter Wonderland while you're watching everyone being happy with their Glühwein and having fun while being surrounded by the magic lights of the market! If you follow my posts, you'll probably know I went to Vienna last march! You can see what I did last year here.
This time we arrived in Vienna on Friday night and we left on Sunday afternoon! It's not much time but it was enough to see the absolutely must see of Vienna!

1. Schönbrunn, the magical palace of the Habsburger's dynasty
2. Naschmarkt, the perfect place to have a coffee or a lunch break
3. Belvedere, another breathtaking palace in the heart of the city! Enjoy the amazing view from there
4. Museumsquartier, where an incredible amount of museums are located
5. Nationalbibliothek
6. Hofburg, another palace of the Habsburger's dynasty
7. Christmas markets: there are a lot! Rathaus, Museumsquartier...the whole city is full of beautiful christmas markets!
8. Opera
9. Rathaus
10. The city center and the Stephansdom

What you absolutely have to do when you go to Vienna is to eat a super tasty Wiener Schnitzel. For those who don't know what it is, it's a very thin veal cutlet fried in the pan! It's super delicious and it's something you MUST eat in Vienna!

Ruby Marie Hotel

This time we stayed at the Ruby Marie Hotel in Vienna! The location is great because it's just two minutes walking away from the Westbahnhof and it's really comfortable because you have the underground station directly at the corner of the street! If you want to take a walk and see some shops, it's the perfect location because in the Mariahilferstrasse you can find a super long beautiful street with plenty of shops and restaurants!
The rooms are simply beautiful and filled with design pieces and we had ours in the 7th floor, so when we woke up and before going to bed we could enjoy the beautiful view over Vienna's rooftops! The design of the hotel is curated in every detail, in fact Ruby Hotel has a lean luxury philosophy:
"We don't need huge rooms, because luxury can also work in confined spaces. But, we also want everything to have its place and the most important things to work perfectly: being connected, sleeping and freshening up."
A tip? Don't forget to turn on the Marshall amplifier and speaker! Another thing I want to add is related to the breakfast! It's the meal I prefer and when I have a good breakfast, my day really turns into something better haha! The breakfast at Ruby Hotel was delicious: croissant, yoghurt, italian salumi, a perfect cappuccino, yoghurt... everything you could wish for!

See you soon Vienna,
Xo
V.
