Products I’ve Used Up | Empties #30

I toyed with the idea of the post, this is now the 30th empties post I’ve done where I go through the products I’ve used up, and if I’d repurchase. This is all of the empties I’ve gathered since the 12th of March so we have around two months worth of products. In the true spring cleaning fashion, I’ve also decluttered a few items. I have considered potentially scrapping my empties and instead doing a monthly roundup of favourites and empties together but maybe that would be too long? Let me know in the comments if you enjoy individual empties posts!
Declutter

These are a few items I had sat in my stash that just weren’t getting used or didn’t work for me, I don’t think I’d repurchase any of these.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls
I’ve had this for a while but for me, curly Hair is ahrd to maintain and with this I can either have amazing hair or I can have a very bad hair day very quickly. I’d used most of this but it has been sat on my shelf for ages and I feel like the smell is changing so time to get rid.

Illamasqua Gel Sculpt in Fluster
I loved the idea of this but it drags my makeup so the only way to wear this is underneath makeup. I’ve also found that it’s far too bright and doesn’t blend out easily, I ended up having to wear my base over this which seemed pointless and I just don’t reach for it. I’ve tried to use this one up but I just don’t enjoy it so it’s time to go.

Body Shop Shimmer Lotion in Frosted Cranberry
I did use up the rest of my Frosted Cranberry products but I don’t like this shimmer lotion it doesn’t do that much in terms of hydration and the glitter in this is just insane.

Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Psychadelic Sister
I used to wear colour all of the time but just stopped reaching for this, I found this didn’t work well on the waterline and on the lash line I disliked the glitter. I did keep hold of this but when I used it, it had dried out, I did try sharpen it but again it’s completely dry now and unusuable.

Gosh Velvet Touch Liner in Sky High
I’ve had this for years, way longer than I probably should have had an eyeliner. It’s a nice liner, it does work on the waterline and lash line and I love the blue metallic finish but it’s not something I use on a daily basis and it’s probably expired or is close to it now.

Collection Matt Lip Butter in Marshmallow Pink
I didn’t like this, I’ve had lip crayons before but this one I’d broke a while ago anyway. For me, the formula is just too dry it sucks the hydration out and dries my lips out really badly and it often looks patchy on me. At this point, it’s just so drying I don’t use for it and I’ve had a while.

Illamasqua Eye Liner in Noble
I was disappointed with this, it is very pigmented and I love the sky blue shade but this doesn’t take on the waterline at all as it’s a very dry product. On the lids this is nice but it just doesn’t last so I have to constantly top up only for it to fade again quickly. Not a fan unfortunately.

Empties

Haircare

Colab Dry Shampoo Original
Colab dry shampoo is now my absolute favourite, I just love how it reduces oil in my hair without leaving a white cast plus it smells nice and is affordable. I’ve already picked up another Colab dry shampoo but this time the fruity scent.
Repurchase? Already have.

Herbal Essences Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (samples)
I got these in a magazine, I do like Herbal Essences and currently have their Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioners on the go, I’ll be reviewing these sachets this week, I would probably use them again.
Repurchase? No.

Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray
I love this texturising spray especially as it’s a product that I can use on dry hair. I’ve gone through countless of these. I do feel like the range has changed the scent which I’m not massively keen on however, the product performs as well as usual. I’m not getting another one of these yet as I have a Bumble and Bumble product to try but I would in the future.
Repurchase? No.

Philip Kingsley Maximizer (mini)
This was sent as a PR sample, I do really like this if I’m wearing my hair curly, the volume this gives is amazing and it genuienly makes my hair at least twice as thick as normal without any coarseness or buildup. I do use this when my hair is wet and since it is a mist type product I don’t use it on my straightened hair so won’t repurchase in the forseeable future.
Repurchase? No.

Skincare
Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask
This was a very good face mask for removing my dry patches and I did like the rose clay ingredient. Having said that this use walnut shell to scrub at the skin and it was quite harsh on the skin. This didn’t do any major damage but my skin was noticeably redder after using this and I feel like I’d prefer to exfoliate in future with acids over this.
Repurchase? No.

Miscellaneous
Crabtree and Evelyn Pomegranate Hand Cream (mini)
I didn’t expect to like this so I was really pleasantly surprised. This was a lovely hand cream, the scent was absolutely amazing and I loved the formula as well, super hydrating and quick to sink in. I would definitely use this again but at the moment I have a few hand creams in my stash so will be using those first.
Repurchase? No.

Dove Original Roll on Deodorant x2
My go to deodorant, Dove have just released a floral edition which I have and it smells amazing. I like how gentle the formula is, at the moment my Eczema has flared on my armpits and this keeps me sweat free without exacerbating it.
Repurchase? No.

Superdrug Cotton Balls
A bog standard basic essential, these were good and they’re affordable, you get a lot for your money and they did the job, at the moment I have some cotton pads I’m using up but will likely go back to these.
Repurchase? Yes.

Avon Concealer Brush
I’ve had this for years and it’s just completely broke so time for the bin, I think this was a concealer brush. I used this for foundations without a pump to dip this in and apply to my face before blending with a sponge, it did the trick but the brush head was scratchy.
Repurchase? No.

Primark Brush
I got this in a set from my secret santa, unfortunately the glue has just worn away so the head keeps falling off, I did keep reattaching but it does keep falling off again so I’m just going to let it go.
Repurchase? No.

Nails
L’oreal Color Riche Nail Polish in Hypnotic Red
I was given this polish by my friend Georgiana and I’ve completely used it up. I did enjoy using this and want to try more L’oreal nail polishes, the whites range looked amazing and I’ve heard good things about the oil ones. I have a different red in my collection so wouldn’t repurchase this specific shade.
Repurchase? No.

Seventeen Nail Art Pens in Black and White
These came in a nail art set I got years ago, these have just completely dried up now which I realised when I did my umbrella nail art tutorial! These are not available anymore and Seventeen as a brand is being discontinued so no repurchase.
Repurchase? No.

Superdrug Acetone Nail Polish Remover
My go to nail polish remover this is affordable, accessible and it works. No complaints from me on this I have repurchased already.
Repurchase? Already have.

Bodycare
Veet Hair Removal Cream
I had this for my Christmas do and still had a bit left to use so I used that up, to be honest I don’t mind using hair removal cream but this just wasn’t very effective and I’d have to shave after using it anyway, I actually prefer Nair so wouldn’t get this again.
Repurchase? No.

Body Shop Mini Body Scrub in Frosted Cranberry
This came in a Christmas set I’d got in the sale, the sugar scrub was effective but at the same time it felt a little harsh on the skin I also felt that the scent was way too sweet for me.
Repurchase? No.

Body Shop Mini Shower Gel in Frosted Cranberry
This was okay, I’ve had other products I prefer like my Nivea Cashmere Moments which is much creamier, leaves my skin super soft and is cheaper so I probably wouldn’t get this again. I do have a different Body Shop Shower Gel in my stash though.
Repurchase? No.

Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Mist
I was gifted this as a Christmas present a while ago, I love the smell of this however, the smell doesn’t last on the skin. I know that is probably because it’s a mist but was sitll a bit of a shame. This was a nice product to use but it’s not something I’d rush out to buy.
Repurchase? No.

Impulse Tease Body Spray
I’ve gone through multiple cans of this, it’s a great Body spray that smells much more expensive than it actually is and I love the fruity scent of this.
Repurchase? Yes.

Makeup
Essence Lash Princess Mascara
I’d had this for so long that I decided to toss this as it was past its expiry date. I didn’t like this mascara it was far too wet and ended up transferring and running, it also glued a lot of my lashes together and made them look clumpy.
Repurchase? No.

Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Primer and Illuminator
I think this was a nice idea but missed the mark. As a highlighter I loved the shade however, the liquid formula made it harder to work with as it could end up lifting the base. I did use this as an all over primer and got away with it however, I found it did nothing for my pores at all and didn’t actually prime the skin properly. Multi-purpose products are useful but only if they really excel one way or another.
Repurchase? No.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nudist
I loved this, I never thought I’d finish a liquid lipstick but I certainly did use up this one. I loved the shade and formula of this and after reviewing it I used it daily until I’d finished it up. Really impressed with this and want to try more of the range now.
Repurchase? Yes.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
This concealer was different to my usual it wa smuch lighter and offered less coverage but was more radiant. At first I did really like this however, towards the end I noticed it had a tendency to sink into fine lines, also it was quite yellow which seems to be a common thing with Bourjois products. I would use this again but for now I opted to go back to my Collection concealer instead.
Repurchase? Possibly but not at the moment.

Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation
My go-to foundation I’m currently on the hunt for a new foundation that will have a decent longevity but won’t cost as much. I have repurchased this as it is my holy grail, the coverage on this is amazing and my shade Bone is a good match for me however, it is kind of like wearing a mask.
Repurchase? Already have.

Clarins Smooth Perfecting Touch (sample)
This was okay but I’ve found pore filling products I prefer, I did also feel like this left my skin a tad tight and sore.
Repurchase? No.
