What I got for Christmas and Birthday 2017

I was lucky enough to receive lots of lovely gifts, aside from Beauty I got a backpack, some clothes, pyjamas and games but since I’m a beauty blogger I thought I’d keep it to the beauty bits which were a lot of my gifts anyway

My boyfriend tried really hard this year with both Christmas and my Birthday (he tries hard every year but this year went a little nuts). He’d picked stuff based off of my beauty wishlist but he also had listened to me blathering on about certain products (skin frost) and then ordered, wrapped and surprised me which was really touching (and made me well up.)

I’d been going on about Glossier since they hit the UK and he decided to surprise me with a couple of bits from there. I got the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser which I’m really excited to try as I’ve heard rave reviews. I’d also fallen completely for the concept of the blushers and so I also got a Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff. The packaging is seriously cool with pink bubble-wrap, stickers and I even got a sample of Glossier You as well.

I believe he got the other products from Beauty Bay he ordered from there before with no issues and he ordered pre-Black Friday, he was annoyed at how everything was packaged, stuff was underneath bubble wrap or tossed into the box but delivery was quick! I got one product I’ve used before and loved – Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The rest of the products he picked out himself so I was surprised to get:

*Beauty Blender The Original

*Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold
* Morphe Fall Into Frost Eyeshadow Palette
* Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly
* Nyx Total Cover Foundation
* Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara

My boyfriend’s mum doesn’t know too much about makeup as she doesn’t wear it but she was very excited on my birthday to present me with a wrapped Makeup Me Up set that she’d picked up for me. I’m not sure what I will be able to use as I have skin that irritates easily but there’s some lovely things inside I’m particularly excited for the nail polishes and nail tools which I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. The thoughtfulness really touched me and it was a lovely surprise!

Another surprise from my boyfriend’s mum wasn’t actually a Christmas or Birthday gift, she’d been given some beauty products that she hadn’t used and thought I would like. (Again this made me very emotional) so inside this lovely satiny wash-bag was: Sanctuary Gentle Polish Body Scrub, Sanctuary Silky Smooth Body Lotion, Sanctuary Clean Burst Body Wash and a Marks and Spencer Passionflower Hand and Body Lotion. I’ve not used much by Sanctuary so I’m excited to try these and I’m blown away by her thoughtfulness.

I got two makeup brush sets which were definitely needed as my makeup brushes are old and most likely on their way out. From my Secret Santa at work I got a beautiful Primark Unicorn Brushes set – the ferrules are twisted and silver like unicorn horns which is adorable and they’re super soft. I also got the Real Techniques Eye Essentials Limited Edition Brush set which has fluffy brushes inside so I’m excited to try that.

My dad for me a Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture fragrance which I’ve had before and smells absolutely delicious. Mum knows how paranoid I am about my teeth as I drink a lot of tea and coffee plus I smoke so I was really pleased to get the iWhite Instant Teeth Whitening Kit.

It was my birthday on the 29th December so I went shopping to use up Christmas and birthday money and gift cards. I mainly got clothes which were desperately needed but of course at the end I hit the makeup stores… I repurchased my beloved Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation which is my holy grail and I was very low on it. I also got some hair products including the L’oreal Elnett Satin Limited Edition Hairspray, Aussie Miracle Moisture Conditioning Spray and Toni and Guy Heat Protection Mist.

I remember one Christmas getting a set from the Body Shop and falling in love with a particular scent. Year after year I tried to find it but it had been discontinued much to my dismay. Having said that I went in and smelled the Indian Night Jasmine Perfume and realised that it was the scent I’d fallen in love with not long ago so of course I picked it up!

I got a couple of bits from Boots namely the Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Tea and Cookies and the Nyx Dewy Finish Setting Spray both of which I’ve wanted to try for a while. Finally I went into SpaceNK for the very first time and picked up two luxury items. Of course the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit was sold out but I did get the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light which  apparently is great for redness (my face basically.) I also wanted to try the Backlight Priming Filter but it was out of stock however, the Becca First Light Priming Filter looked amazing so I got that instead. Bonus points for the fact SpaceNK threw in a sample of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer which I’ve had before but appreciated anyway.

So there we have it, I’m a very very very lucky girl and I’m so grateful for every gift I’ve received this year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (feel free to link me to your what I got posts) and a happy new year to you all, may 2018 bring joy and happiness!

Thanks for reading.
