I love sweet scents so it’s no surprise that Viktor and Rolf’s Bonbon was on my “to try” list for a very long time before I finally bit the bullet and picked it up. I’m not going to lie this perfume is very expensive so if you prefer fragrances that are a little more budget friendly then this one won’t be for you. If you have had your eye on BonBon for a while though here’s my thoughts and if I think it’s worth the money.

BonBon is packaged in this beautiful, decadent looking box with a bow design and a plastic emblem of the Viktor and Rolf logo. I actually bought this on my 21st birthday and I have the 30ml. As mentioned above this is expensive with the 30ml being priced at £52.00, the 50ml at £73.00 and the 90ml at a whopping £96.00. This is undoubtedly high end and is the sort of fragrance that I would wear for occasions.

The perfume notes are as follows:
Top Notes: Mandarin, Orange, Peach.
Heart Notes: Caramel, Jasmine, Orange Blossom.
Base Notes: Cedarwood, Guaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Amber.

Starting with the scent, I can’t really smell the top notes when I apply this, to me this is a very sweet (but not sickly) scent with the main note to my nose being caramel. This scent reminds me a lot of the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold Couture scent so if you’re a fan of that you will probably like this. Although the woody notes and fruit aren’t instantly detectable and recognisable I think that it’s those notes that transfers this into a warm sweet scent that isn’t too sickly or synthetic.

The longevity of this is also very good which I would expect from the price tag. I can spray this in the morning and it will last for the majority of the day especially on my skin. Usually if I spray this in the morning (and by spray I mean spray in front and walk into it) the scent lingers on my clothes throughout the day.

Whilst this is a very nice scent I do think that for what it is, it is very expensive. To be honest there’s a lot of similar scents out there and this does remind me a lot of the Juicy Couture perfumes, whilst the scent and longevity do deliver this isn’t a scent that I think is particularly unique and I do feel that you are paying for the packaging and the brand more than anything else.

Would I repurchase? Probably not. Whilst this is a nice scent and it doesn’t disappoint in quality the price is just too much for a fragrance that doesn’t stand out to me as much as it should. If you do have the money to spare and you are looking for a high end perfume with a sweet scent then I do think you will like this but in my opinion this isn’t something that you absolutely need to have it is a luxury more than anything else.
