Named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, there is no surprise that you have to pay a fee of $2 to access the beach + a taxi to bring you there from the port. However, it totally worth it! The water is so clean, hot, and clear that looks coming directly from a pool.
Trunks bay is located in St. John, one of the US Virgin Islands, and a Ferry is available from St. Thomas every hour or half hour depending of the season. Less crowded, this tranquil Island will definitely amaze you by its stunning natural parks, beaches, breathtaking landscapes and relaxing good vibe.
I have to admit I wanted to stay only 1hour at the beach and spend the rest of the day discovering the Island, but once arrived there it was extremely hard to leave. It was so hard that we even missed the ferry to come back to St. Thomas in order to take our ship!
I was completely stressed and in panic! The next ferry was only within 30 Mins arriving at 4.45 PM in St. Thomas with our ship leaving at 5!
Furthermore, once in St. Thomas we would even have to take a cab to Charlotte Amalie (which takes 30mins to get there)!
There was only one way to get there in time: the ferry should speed up! And a lot! From 45 mins to…20mins!
Desperate, we entered in the ferry looking after the captain and his crew, we explained our situation, and thanks them with a nice tip…
“Sit and relax my friend!” they told us with a smile.
20mins later we could finally jump in a taxi the captain had arranged for us, and like Fast and Furious we runt in direction to the Port of Charlotte Amalie.
The gates were closing but the crew saw 2 passengers running like crazy to get into the boat, they smiled and awaited.
We finally made it…at 4.59!
