Etude House Big Cover Concealer Cushion Review & Swatch

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Base makeup has always been my favorite makeup category because it helps even out my skin tone so I don’t look like someone who just had allergies all up on her face. Whevener there’s a new Concealer in the market, I just feel a sudden urge to buy it and try it out on my face. Thus, this Etude House Big Cover Concealer Cushion blog post is created, lol.

The concealer comes in a separate beige box with all of the product information and ingredients listed on the sides of it. I bought the darkest shade as I usually do with most Korean makeup products. Even then, it can sometimes be a little too light for my skintone. Luckily, this one mathes a bit better compared to my previous purchases.

Right out of the box, the concealer is housed in a tube that has a clicking mechanism on the end. On the opposite side is a white round puff where the product comes out. I usually dot this on the back of my hand before applying it straight to the problematic area, i.e. my blemishes. This helps me reduce any bacteria transfer from my acne to the applicator.

The consistency is slightly thick, but I can still blend it easily with fingers or with a brush. It has a slight plastic-powder scent when I applied it on my skin. I’m not sure if this is a dud on my part, but that’s what I’m experiencing at the moment.

It is able to conceals the redness and light acne scars, but can only partially conceal my sun spot.

The coverage that this concealer gives is around light medium to medium coverage. I tried applying it in layers, but it looked cakey and overall terrible on my skin. It has a matte finish, so I prefer using this for blemishes on my cheeks and other areas where it is usually oily. I don’t like using this under my eyes as it accentuates the dryness under my eyes and makes it look cakey.

I don't know if you can see how cakey it is under the eyes.

Overall, Etude House Big Cover Concealer Cushion may seem like a more practical method in applying concealer if you are not fully equipped with a sponge or brush. Tapping it with fingers can also be done to get the concealer even on the skin. The matte finish makes it more suitable to be used on my blemishes, instead on my under eye area.

What do you think of this concealer? Have you tried it? Let me know what you think in the comments section below. Thanks for reading and until then, I’ll see you later~
