Foreo Luna Review

Hello, lovelies~ Over the past few years, there has been numerous skincare tools that helps improve the appearance and condition of the Skin. There were a few claims to these devices aside from just cleansing the skin, thus removing the outermost part of the skin a.k.a the dead skin cells. Cleaning out blackheads from the pores all the way to anti-aging. Some claim, huh?

One of the devices that recently came on the market is the Foreo Luna. A skincare device equipped with two sides for face cleansing and anti-aging. It first came out around 2013, but I just got it last month in Sephora Singapore. I've been using it for a month and half, give or take, so here is what I think of the device.

The half egg shaped device comes in a box, complete with instructions manual and a charger. There is also a Foreo authenticity card, so it can be registered at their website. It gives a 2 year warranty/10 year quality guarantee that you can read here on their website.

If you look on their website, you can see various colours the Foreo has to offer. However, it turns out that the colours are indicators of the different type of Foreo. It has different bristles from one another and is targeted for specific skin types. The blue one is for combination skin, pink is for sensitive/normal skin, and the white is for ultra sensitive skin.

I am going to talk about the blue Luna because that is what I got. The blue Luna has two types of bristles; one slightly big than the other. It is made from silicone that has a dull edge, so it doesn't scratch the skin as regular brush-type bristle do.

It functions to cleanse the skin from any dead skin cell that is stuck on the outermost layer of the skin. Remember my blog post on how our skin has a slower turnover rate as we age? Well, one of the way to help enhance the removal of dead skin cell would be to use physical exfoliants, if you're afraid of chemical ones.

With this device, all I did was dampen it with a bit of water before use and apply soap all over my already wet face. I proceed to turn it on by pressing the button in the middle of the (-) and (+) sign, switched it to its highest speed and use an upward motion on my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. As for the under eye area, I use the lowest speed to cleanse it thoroughly. To adjust the speed, I just pressed the (-) and (+) sign.

It has a buzzing sound while it is turned on and double buzz to indicate the 15 second mark. It certainly feels relaxing as it massages my skin. On days when I feel lousy, I would turn it to the lowest setting and massage my face using the back side of the device.

Luna charges fast and last for quite a long time. I just need to charge it for an hour to make it last for over 20 something use, not sure about the exact number, but it is a long time. Well, maybe not a life time, but a long time. :)

However, I am a little concerned about the location of the charger on the Luna. It was on the backside and I'm just afraid to get water inside it. So far, I have been extra careful before I charge it because I'm terrified that it will short circuit when I plug the charger in. Yeah, I'm paranoid that water will get inside the hole.

The question of the century is, " Is it worth the money?". Well, as a cleansing device, it does the same job as my non-vibrating silicone brush. Maybe if you're someone who doesn't double cleanse with a cleansing oil, this would do wonders for you. I know people have been singing praises to the Luna, but I'm not in that group. Not that I hate the Luna entirely, I like using the massage tool on the back of it. It's just that the Luna is not all that to me.

How about you? Have you tried the Foreo Luna? Let me know in the comments below your thoughts are about it or if you're dying to try it. Thanks for reading and until then, I'll see you later~

P.S: Maybe this blog post will get tons of hate, but hey, to each their own, right? :)
