10 Home Remedies For Acne

Do you spend 30 minutes, maybe an hour each day putting on make-up?

Foundation, powder, pressing powder…

It takes time and several products to efficiently cover up Acne. It can be frustrating and sometimes you are still left with that completely obvious blemish that just makes you want to hide.

But, what if you didn’t have to worry about the acne in the first place?

I hate that dreaded moment when you wake up with a huge problem spot the same week you have photos, a speech, or a first date.

Acne always seems to come up when it is least desired…

However, between make-up removing wipes, facewash, acne cream, a magic face gel, and an acne erasing pen, you can find yourself just spending too much money trying to rid your face of those problem spots.

So, instead of throwing another dollar at your local drug store’s “miracle cream,” try these home remedies for acne:

  1. Honey
The antibiotic properties found in honey are known to improve the appearance of acne. Either make a mask using honey and oatmeal or apply a drop of honey directly to the affected area(s).
  2. Tea Tree Oil
This miracle worker contains natural anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness and swelling of acne, while being less harsh on the skin compared to a benzoyl peroxide solution.  Try mixing a few drops with witch hazel, then apply using a cotton swab.
  3. Mint
Mint is great for removing the oil from a clogged pore. Start by mixing some finely chopped mint with oatmeal and plain yogurt. Next, apply the mask to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes.
  4. Green Tea
The antioxidant and antimicrobial compounds found in green tea help fight off acne. Use a cool cup of green tea as a facewash or lay the warm bag of green tea over the affected area.
  5. Chamomile
Chamomile is another acne fighting agent that can help reduce inflammation and therefore, redness and swelling. Combine the components of a bag of chamomile tea in with a blender and enough water to form a paste. Apply to the affected area.
  6. Aspirin
The salicylic acid found in Aspirin is a go-to for quick acne treatments. It can help dry up pimples and reduce the inflammation. Make a paste by mashing the Aspirin in a little water.
  7. Aloe
Most commonly known for its burn-relieving properties, aloe is also great for promoting healing, reducing scarring, and even fighting infection. Scrape some of the gel from an aloe plant and apply directly to the affected area.
  8. Witch Hazel
While it can be combined with tea tree oil for a quick acne fix, it can also be used on its own to dry up and shrink blemishes. Pour some witch hazel on a cotton ball and apply to your face twice a day.
  9. Apple Cider Vinegar
The lactic acids and malic found in this vinegar can reduce red marks, treat acne, and exfoliate your skin. Mix it with equal parts water and apply to your skin using a cotton ball.
  10. Lemons
This yummy citrus fruit also acts as a disinfectant, skin lightener, and exfoliant. Lemons can help prevent new pimples from forming and reduce the appearance of scars from previous pimples. Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and dab it on a clean face, then rinse.

Acne does not have to continue to be a money pit or a problem area in your life.

It can be a real confidence killer and just overall frustrating…

Stop stressing over that new pimple that just popped up and start clearing it up now with one of these home remedies for acne!
