Remember my last review of Dream A Little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher? Well now I've got the follow up, a gorgeous Christmas novella following the story of Sarah and Brett after the end of Dream A Little Dream.
Just a quick point before I get into the actual review of the Christmas novella. This will be a spoiler of the original Book, Dream A Little Dream. To fully review the novella, I'm going to have to talk about things that happen in Dream A Little Dream so if you haven't read that, please don't read this review, I really don't want to ruin the original book for anyone!
This book is gorgeous, as you probably would expect based on my previous reviews of Giovanna's books. It comes back to visit Sarah and Brett after the end of Dream A Little Dream. I really love that Giovanna writes stand alone books, as I like being able to pick up a book without worrying that I'm not going to know what is going on. However, I always wonder what happens to the characters after the end of the story, so this is the perfect solution from Giovanna.
This novella is set at Christmas and starts with Sarah dreaming about really bizarre things, things that you definitely don't want to be dreaming about around Christmas time. Sarah worries that many of her dreams mean something bad is going to happen and when she combines this with some news from her flatmate and Brett acting strange, she immediately assumes the worst.
However, it is Christmas and although I don't want to spoil it, I'm sure you'll know that there has to be a happy ending at Christmas. This was a real heartwarming book and although I did pretty much guess what was going to happen, it was definitely still worth the read. It made me feel festive and honestly, these little novellas have become a part of me getting ready for Christmas so I'm not sure what I'm going to do if Giovanna doesn't write one every year!
If you have read Dream A Little Dream, I would definitely recommend you picking this up. Its really short, you could read it in one evening and it just finishes off the story of Sarah and Brett beautifully. I honestly cannot give enough praise for Giovanna Fletcher and the books she has written recently - you definitely have to give them a read!
