Before I begin, let me apologize for not posting in quite some time. I am still trying to recuperate from being ill. I want to thank all of my followers for continuing to visit and for your wonderful comments. I cherish all of you so much. I decided to write about my favorite Color, red, because it has a special quality that makes me feel just a bit cheerful and energetic when I am not feeling quite myself. I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please relax, savor a view of some beautiful red dresses designed by the great Elie Saab and accept my invitation to continue to read about why I dream in red. Note: The images below are from Elie Saab's Fall 2014 Ready to Wear collection.
My Happy Color is supposed to be the color of the season but for me it is always THE color that makes me feel powerful, confident, playful and cheerful. It conjures up not only those emotions in me but a whole list of others. Does your happy color make you feel that way? Whether you refer to it as scarlet, rouge, ruby or crimson I am certain you will admit that whatever name is used to describe red there is simply no way it can be ignored. Whether you like red a little or love it a lot it can add a touch of sass to any look or a whole lot. Can you envision yourself with any of the lovelies below? I sure can. That is exactly why I have bags and shoes and treasures galore in my favorite shade. |

It is such a brilliant shade, is it not? It can accentuate an ensemble by adding just a pop of its boldness or make its wearer the center of attention. I hope you agree that it certainly can play both roles to perfection. |

It is often associated with strong feelings such as anger, passion, love and so many others on a long list of strong emotions. It is certainly quite a prominent color, as well, during holiday festivities in December in the United States, where I reside, and again during Valentine's Day. I am certain that many of you, throughout the globe, have a similar fondness for this bold shade. I would love to learn about how important red is in your culture so please do share.
Did you know there are apparently 285 variations of the color red? I initially thought that it was quite impossible and rather far-fetched that 285 shades of red exists. It was with quite a large amount of skepticism that I preceded to determine if I would like many of the other variations of my favorite color. After all, as much as I love my happy color I could not imagine that I would like a third of what I think of as second and third cousins of True Red. I am more than willing to make room for members of its family which to me include burgundy, bordeaux, wine, maroon and oxblood. Of course, I will always make room in my heart, as well, for its distant cousin pastel pink. I may have a bit of the vixen in me but I also have quite a girly side as well. It, therefore, makes perfect sense that I could love true red and pastel pink. No matter what, however, true red is the king of my heart and always will be.

One of the qualities red possesses that is certainly irresistible to me is its ability to play well with other colors. Don't you think so?

Out of curiosity I decided to explore a bit and determine if I could find more than a half dozen shades of red that would wiggle their way into my heart. Surprisingly, I did. Most of them had names which I must admit are undeniably bold such as lust and folly. Maybe the lion in me roars at the sight of these brash shades because I can’t help myself. Could it be that my horoscope sign feels an instant kinship with such an impudent shade? I think I will leave it at that. After all, perhaps my love of red was written in the stars. Was it fate that red seems to fit me to a T? It seems to flatter my olive skin tone at least that is what I have been told by many. Regardless, even if it didn’t suit me, I somehow think I would love it all the same.
Now my friends, I wait on you to share with me what your happy color is? Do tell.
