FACEBOOK GROUP MEMBER OF THE MONTH: KRIS M

If there is one vivid memory that stands out when I think of Kris, our Facebook Group Member of the Month for December, it was back when the pandemic first hit. Kris is a nurse and at the time when we were all safe in lockdown and COVID was claiming lives worldwide, she was working. With the bonds and familiarity that have been formed in our Facebook Group, when I found out that Kris was doing what so many other brave healthcare workers were doing at the time, it felt like the group sent one of their own into the trenches. Many of us were genuinely concerned for her well-being.

Kris has an energy that makes it no surprise that she works in the business of service and care and it is my pleasure to feature her as this month’s Facebook Group Member of the Month so we can all get to know her and her Style better.

Q: What do you like most about being a member of Bridgette’s Facebook Group?

A: It’s fun to see the different styles each member brings to the group, and it’s also a safe space to share Fashion advice and ideas!

Q: The biggest benefits you have received from being a Group member

A: Fashion inspo in a fun and welcoming community!

Q: What would you tell women who haven’t joined The Group yet?

A: Don’t hesitate a minute longer! Not only is it a fun and drama-free group, you’ll even learn a few things!

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My style has been described as bohemian!

Q: How did you discover your style?

A: I like almost every color (and prints, especially florals). My house is full of bright colors, art (some of it mine), patterns, textures etc. I’ve always loved flowy, comfortable clothing so my style was organically born from the many lovely things that please my eye and feel good on my body.

Q: What advice do you have for others trying to find their style?

A: Find a style that suits your personality. Wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable!

Q: What fashion issues are you currently struggling with?

A: I always have the hardest time figuring out my winter shoe situation. I need a pair of waterproof boots that look cute with a pair of rolled jeans!

Q: What are the most versatile items you have in your closet?

A: I have this amazing kimono from Anthropologie. I literally wear it with everything! It has a lot of pink in it but also like every other color as well.

Q: If you could go back and change the way you dressed in the past, what would you change?

A: I would stop trying so hard!

Q: Is there a fashion purchase you made that you found more useful than you thought it would be?

A: I think it’s that kimono. I wasn’t sure how much I’d wear it and it turned it to be the most prized item I reach for.

Q: What about a fashion purchase that you thought would solve all your problems, but didn’t?

A: Ughhhhhh, ankle boots. Sooooo many pairs in every shade of neutral. Each pair I thought would be perfect and I’ve hardly worn any of them. They just don’t work with as many outfits as I thought they would.

Q: How do you envision yourself when you look your best?

A: Glowing, happy, confident.

Q: What are your biggest fashion goals for the year?

A: To be open to try new things!

Q: What is the best fashion advice you ever received?

A: “Who cares what they think?”

Q: The first thing you take off when you get home?

A: Shoes!! I dislike shoes in the house. Bring me my slippers, please!

Q: Favorite color(s) to wear

A: This is tough because I wear so many!

Q: Favorite stores to shop?

A: Anthropologie, Free People, Dover Saddlery (for my barn fashion haha)

Q: What makes you happiest?

A: When there is peace and serenity around me.

Q: What inspires you?

A: Birdsong, Mary Oliver, the forest in Autumn.
