Pull-On Pants for Work That Wear Like trousers

The future of workplace fashion is a bit up in the air at the moment. Some people are going back, some continuing to work from home and others are doing a little of both. The Delta variant is creating a tenuous atmosphere after months of feeling like we were on track towards some normalcy. Yet, despite all this, there is one thing that has been consistent, women don’t want to give up comfort as they head back to work.

Clients are giving up pumps and more relaxed silhouettes are replacing more structured ones. This mindset will make a big impact on what the future of fashion for work looks like. One of the changes we’re already seeing is in Pants. After a year of not wearing tailored pants, women are reluctant to go back. Add to that, quite a few of us gained COVID weight (raising a hand) making pants with room ideal.

PULL-ON PANTS FOR WORK THAT WEAR LIKE TROUSERS

I have put together five looks using pull-on pants that wear like trousers and are work-friendly. Be sure to check out some additional styles at the end of the post.

Outfit #1

I styled these pull-on easy, machine-washable joggers from M.M. Lafleur with one of my favorite layering pieces from Eileen Fisher and M.M. Lafleur’s knitted blazer jardigan. I finished the look with M.Gemi flat loafers and a marbled chain necklace from Lafayette 148.

Outfit #2

These deceptive pants from Vince look like tailored trousers but have an elastic back waist. I styled them with the same jardigan as in the first look, a pleated front top in rust from Nordstrom and I finished the look with cognac pumps from Marc Fisher.

Outfit #3

For a more casual work environment, I styled these pull-on pants from Everlane with a boxy button-down from COS. I finished the look with sneakers from Vans and silver hoop earrings from 8 Other Reasons.

Outfit #4

One way to create a relaxed work look is to pair tailored with soft. I styled these crepe joggers from The Fold for work with a grey blazer from J.Crew, and a washable silk t-shirt from Quince. I finished the look with python flats and the same silver hoops as the last look.

Outfit #5

One of my clients recently bought these lantern pants. She’s a CEO and used to wear a lot of sheath dresses, blazers, and heels. Given the current landscape, she doesn’t need them. A look like this is much more current to her needs. I styled these pants with a coordinating sleeveless mock neck top and a linen open-front jacket. The look is finished with a pair of snake-embossed block heel sandals from AGL and the same Lafayette 148 necklace as in the first look.
