Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bar – new shades for Spring 2018!

Sorry for the radio silence!  I’ve spent a couple of days skiing at Winterberg with my team, and then last weekend in Bruxelles.  I really missed skiing, and I think I’ve gotten the hang of traveling alone and actually rather enjoy it!  Bruxelles surprised me with its charm, it’s almost like going somewhere in France, except the people are friendlier and speak English.  I’ve uploaded the highlights of my trip on my Instagram stories so feel free to go check it out there.

Today, I’m popping in to wipe off this dusty blog and update you on some new lipsticks!  Matte lips are not going anywhere soon, especially when they come with a nice creamy texture and satin finish.  You’ve met the Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bars last fall [see here], now check out the 6 brand new shades for Spring 2018!

Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bar is an innovative lipstick that feature a lip primer and lip color duo that come in a rectangular bar format.  The packaging features a slider that allows you to push and retract the lipstick at will.  The lighter colored lip primer and the pigmented lip color are arranged in a diagonal split which is really quite genius because it automatically blends out the colors as you swipe, so extra effort is needed to achieve an ombre effect.

The shades are:

  • Sunshine Coral (5) – milky vermillion mixed with pale salmon pink
  • Red Velvet (6) – dark wine red mixed with pale dusky pink
  • Apricot Candy (7) – muted orange mixed with white
  • Rose Layering (8) – reddened rosewood mixed with pale cool-toned pink
  • Raspberry Latte (9) – medium muted red mixed with white
  • Soft Knit (10) – dark chocolate brown mixed with pale beige

On my lips, the colors tend to blend out less pigmented than their respective arm swatches.  Nonetheless, you can build up the intensity easily by making more passes.  However, as the bars blend out automatically, the ombre effect becomes less obvious the more swipes you make.  Of the 6 shades, I found the darker hues to look better on my lips, and I’m particularly fond of Red Velvet (6).  My lips are particularly dry when I was trying out these Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bars, but in reality they feel perfectly comfortable wearing these all day and they do not dry out my lips even with consecutive days of wear.

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to rock the ombre lip color trend, you should definitely give these Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bars a try!
