Round-the-clock Anti-aging Skincare with Clarins Multi-Active Day & Night

I recently had a test done to check on my skin’s “age”, and I was shocked to find that my Skin had aged 9 years in the past 5 years.  And the key reason for that was a drastic drop in firmness and radiance, and increased wrinkles.  It was inevitable, given I’m sleeping much lesser now than before, and my skin is being exposed to much more stresses with increased air travel.  So I finally decided to break into the new Clarins Multi-Active Day and Night moisturizer duo to target those early signs of aging!

Clarins’ Multi-Active Day was one of my first moisturizers after I turned 20, back when that seemed like a big scary thing.  *lmao*  And that mantra of using the right skincare for your skin’s needs is perfectly exemplified today, as I reunite with the Multi-Active range in my late 30s and find myself loving it so much more than I ever did before.

The Multi-Active range of moisturizers is now in its 5th generation, and consists of 2 pairs of day & night moisturizers – for normal to combination skin and for normal to dry skin.  It is lovely to have the option of using a lighter emulsion for the day and a richer cream at night regardless of your skin type, or to switch up the textures depending on the season.  The reformulated products make use of cutting edge cell targeting technology to deliver a powerful encapsulated teasel extract to devitalized fibroblasts deep within the skin.  Teasel extract has strong antioxidant properties and has the ability to re-energize and revitalize, enabling skin to kick-start its own repair mechanisms.

For the daytime, I prefer the lighter Clarins Multi-Active Day Emulsion which comes in a slender bottle with a pump dispenser.  Though it is billed for normal to combination skin, I found it to be very hydrating and the texture is just rich enough to soothe my dry skin without weighing down my makeup.  Clarins has included skin loving ingredients like squalane, jojoba esthers, sodium hyaluronate, and several other plant extracts to keep skin soft and moisturized.  Myrothamnus is a South African plant that helps skin retain its moisture level.  Full list of ingredients may be found here.  There is a slight pink tint which disappears once applied, but it leaves my skin looking more radiant and smooth.

At night, I have been using the Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream for Normal to Combination Skin, although I have also been mixing it up with the one for Normal to Dry Skin intermittently.  It is a silky and lightweight cream that is a dream to apply, and is absorbed almost instantly.  I have been consistently surprised by how much smoother, firmer and generally alive my skin looks every morning after going to sleep with this cream.  Apart from the encapsulated teasel extract, the Multi-Active Night Cream also contains ginger lily extract which helps stimulate collagen synthesis, to correct fine lines.  Furthermore, it contains pampering shea butter, tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E) and other beneficial plant extracts.  Full list of ingredients may be found here.
