The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa)

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met is known to be the largest art museum in the United States that covers everything from paintings, sculptures and decorative arts of the ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians to musical instruments, costumes, textiles and armor. This museum consists of over 2 million works making it one of the most visited art museums in the world.

Whitney Museum of American Art

$22 adults; $17 seniors and students

The Whitney consists of modern and contemporary American art in the Meatpacking District. Emphasizing seminal artists and artworks from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, The Whitney’s collection includes over 21,000 works created by more than 3,000 artists in the United States totaling some 600 works when the Museum opened in 1931.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Adults $25, Students and Seniors (65 years +) $18, Children under 12 free

The Guggenheim interprets modern and contemporary art. The Guggenheim Foundation includes architecturally and culturally distinct museums, exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms in New York, Venice, Bilbao, and Abu Dhabi. Founded in 1937, its first New York–based venue was created for the display of art.
