Recapping Vogue's Fashions Night Out Melbourne

Jacket: Maje, Top: Zara, Necklace: Asos, Skirt: Asos, Boots: Miss Shop (similar in black velvet), Bag: Cult Gaia

This month kicked off with Vogue Fashion Night Out in Melbourne - a glorified shopping experience with endless sparkling wine.

My friend and I met on Bourke St in our best Spring outfits and scouted all the festivities across Emporium, David Jones and Myer Bourke St, including the gorgeous open air runway featuring iconic Australian designers.

After recently purchasing a new Moschino bag, I put myself on a spending ban, which sounds like an oxymoron as I was at a shopping event with all my favourite brands having a one night only sale. However in order to ensure I was not tempted to spend and later cry about my finances, I devoted my attention to finding complimentary alcohol and sweets, which I was highly successfully at. Talk about a win-win!

While I didn't purchase anything, all the wonderful Australian designers including Alice McCall, Zimmerman, Manning Cartell and more, had put out their best Spring/Summer lines. I loved seeing all the beautiful colours and the textures in all the pieces - frill, lace, layers!

For the night, I paired this asymmetrical Asos Skirt (which I wore on my 18th birthday party) with one of my more recent and coveted purchases, this embodied Maje Jacket. To amplify the Spring-iness of this look, I added a heavy blue and gold statement necklace, my wooden Cult Gaia bag and these burgundy boots (a bit more of an Autumn piece, but I wanted comfy shoes).

What's your favourite outfit for Spring?
