My Face Cleansing Routine and Products

All beauty experts tell us to remove our makeup at the end of the day. Removing our makeup and cleansing our face gives our skin the chance to breathe and repair itself properly throughout the night. Proper cleansing is also important for our skin care products to be better absorbed by our skin making them more effective.

I am lucky to have a pretty decent skin getting pimples only during my period. I don't know if the reason for this is because of the skincare routine that I try to religiously follow. I used to follow the basic steps of skin care for years which are:
  1. Cleansing
  2. Toning
  3. Moisturizing
I've been following the Korean skin care routine lately because I learned that cleansing, toning and moisturizing my skin is not enough. So for today, I will be sharing with you guys my face cleansing routine and the products I used.

1. First step - Remove my makeup
I use makeup wipes to remove my makeup first. I focus more on my eye area to remove the waterproof mascara and eyeliner that I love to use. I am currently using Purederm's Argan Oil makeup wipes. If I would be sleeping over at my sister's place, I would use my Biore's cleansing oil wipes. This one is a bit pricey but you definitely get your money's worth with this one.

2. Second step - Wash face with cleanser
After I remove my makeup with the wipes, I cleanse my face using a cleanser. I alternately use my Cetaphil Skin Gentle Cleanser and Biore's Foam Cleanser. I use the Cetaphil in the morning and Biore at night. Between the two, I honestly prefer Cetaphil than Biore but I don't want to waste my money so I am only using it to finish it up.

Note: I have reviewed Cetaphil Skin Gentle Cleanser and if you want to read my review, you can read it here. If you want me to review my Biore Foam Cleanser just comment down below ^^

3. Third step - Exfoliate
Now, this step is something that I do not do everyday. But this step is also very important and should be included in your cleansing routine. Our skin sheds its outer later once a month (or every 28 days to be exact) to reveal a new and better skin. Exfoliating helps our skin renew itself. However, keep in my mind that you should consider your skin type when it comes to exfoliating. If you have dry or sensitive skin, I suggest you only do this once a week while those with oily and combo skin can exfoliate 2x a week or depending on the product you use.

Here are 3 exfoliating products that I use alternately. The cult favorite, St. Ive's Exfoliating Scrub, Dew & Dew Peeling Gel, and Nature Republic's Lemon Gel Wash.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. If you want me to review any of the products I use above, feel free to comment it below. If you like what you read, don't forget to like or share this post. Follow me and I'll follow you back. Thanks!
