PROJECT PAN: Pan 18 in 2018 pt 1

I discovered this concept of Project Pan from a small group of YouTubers. Basically, it means using up a product until you hit pan on it / finish it up. Some focus on simply panning their palettes (Pan That Palette) while others aim to finish up the entire product. Some set a certain time limit, others do not. It all depends on each person's goals. If you're interested in watching them, I'll list some of their links down below.

I find it interesting to try it out for this year since I am a make up hoarder. I admit that I tend to buy make up (esp high-end) and it ends up not being used. I realised that I am actually wasting my money by not using them.

So for this project, I decided to include some products that I've had for 2 years (and are probably expired by now) and some new products that I got last year. I divided this blog post into 2 parts because I didn't want to bore you with such a lengthy post. So for this post, I will be showing the first 9 make up products (mostly base products) that I included in my project pan.

1.Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre

You can get this one in a variety of sizes, from 15ml - 30ml - 75ml. The one that I have is the 30ml tube. I admit that I when I first started using this last winter, I thought it was a meh product. It was hyped up by the internet people and I guess I expected a lot from it back then. I still stand by my previous opinion of this but I found out that if I layer it with another moisturiser, I was able to get the moisture that my dry skin needed for winter. Since it is currently Summer here down under, my skin isn't as dry so I was finally able to enjoy using this.

I placed a mark on where I am currently at with this tube. My goal with this one is to finish it up by the end of the year. It's only a 30ml and even though I haven't used it up much, I am very optimistic that I will be able to reach my goal with this one.

2. Lancome La Base Pro Hydra Glow

This is an illuminating and hydrating primer that I got last winter. I am in love with this product! I haven't used this as much even though I love it. I wanted to keep this in my collection for as long as I can until I realised that I wouldn't be getting my money's worth by doing that. However, on special days that I use it, it gives my dry skin that lit from within kind of glow. I would say it is more of a subtle highlight so if you prefer a more obvious glow, then you might not enjoy this one.

I use this as a base and also mix it in with my foundation or BB cream. It has a slight salmon-y shade to it that would complement any skin tone. I don't notice any visible glitter when I blend it out. It just gives off this nice, glowy sheen on my dry skin. It claims to be suitable for all skin types and I can imagine it to be since it is a hydrating and subtle highlighter.

My goal for this one is to finish it up by the end of the year. I haven't used up much but since it is only 25ml, I am very optimistic that I will be able to do it. I would definitely repurchase this once I finish it.

3. Naturactor Make Up Base

This is a make up base from a Japanese brand called, Naturactor. Like the Lancome, it has a slight peach-y shade to it. I don't really know if it extends the wear time of my foundation or BB cream. It does help to slightly even out my skin tone on its own. I personally think it's a meh product for me so I wouldn't repurchase this once I'm done with it.

This is probably one of the oldest product in this project. I would say this is going to be around almost 3 years old now. I just want to get it out of my collection that's why I included it in this project. I am about half-way done on this tube and am very optimistic that I will finish this 30ml tube before the year ends.

4. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

This one was included on my previous Yesstyle Haul. This is already a repurchase because I just love this BB cream. It's perfect for summer because it has SPF 42 PA+++ and it offers just enough coverage for my skin. My only complaint about this is its limited shade range. I have the darkest shade which is No.23 and its a little ashy for my yellow undertone.

I bought it last September and I am currently almost halfway down the tube so I am very positive that I will finish this one up as well. My goal is to finish this before Winter.

5. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Make Up

I've already gushed about this product numerous times. It's my ultimate HG foundation of all time. It never failed me while I was in a tropical, very humid country. Also tried this while at the beach, and even in this crazy weather of Australia. I mix this with a moisturiser and it just looks gorgeous on my skin. I apply it with a damp sponge or damp cushion puff and it's never cakey on me. The coverage is medium to heavy (if you layer it) and is enough for me that I don't need to use a concealer.

I only need a small amount that's why even though I use this a lot, I am only halfway down the bottle. Since I plan on using up my BB cream first, my goal is to finish this up by December 2018. I will definitely repurchase this but I will get a shade lighter since the shade I have right now (3W1 Tawny) is slightly darker on me.

6. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

I purchased this because it was highly-raved on the internet and was disappointed when I tried it. It didn't really cover my dark circles! I apply this after my BB cream and I can still see darkness peeking through. I also don't like how it creases on me. I can't set it with powder because I feel like setting it tends to emphasize the lines I have on my under-eyes. I don't understand how this concealer is hyped up because for me it's just a meh product. Besides that, I find it a little too pricey for a drugstore concealer. So I'm just using this up (shade Medium) but I wouldn't repurchase this again.

7. Inglot Freedom System Concealer

I have heard of Inglot before but I haven't really tried anything from this brand. I was on a hunt for a good concealer and after reading reviews on this brand, I decided to try their Freedom System Concealer. I settled on purchasing the shade, Medium Warm 100. It came in a single pan so you need a Z-palette or you can order a single pan palette for it.

I am surprised on how creamy this concealer is. It is a dream to blend. I use my finger to blend it and it perfectly covers ANYTHING I want covered. It also doesn't hurt that it's water resistant and doesn't crease once blended. Since I have dry skin, I don't feel the need to set it with powder and it stays on for hours! Plus, it's more affordable than the hyped up Maybelline concealer. For 7USD each, even if you can't find one that exactly matches you, you can easily get 2 shades to get your perfect shade. This is definitely my current HG concealer! Even though it's a small pan, I only use a small amount each use so I am hoping I would finish this within the year.

8. Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation

I've had this for 2 years now and as you can see, it's barely used. It's one of those "it's so pricey I want to keep it forever" make up items that I am including in this project. It's probably expired but I am still going to pan it this year because I want to get my money's worth.

I know that I won't be able to finish this powder completely by the end of the year so my goal is to simply pan this. Since my skin has changed drastically from being combo to dry skin, I don't use as much powder as I did before so this would probably last me a year or two before I can completely finish it.

9. Make Up Forever Mist & Fix Spray

Like the powder foundation, I've had this for 2 years now and it's slightly used. I like using it after I set my T-zone with powder to get rid of the "powdered look" that just doesn't suit my dry skin. This doesn't leave my skin looking dewy (which I prefer), however, I feel like it does help prolong my make up wear. It's summer here in Australia and it's extremely hot. This helps keep my make up stay on despite heat, sweat and humidity.

It doesn't have any scent, doesn't leave a sticky feeling on my skin and the nozzle gives off a fine mist each use. I've used this a lot recently and I've barely made any progress so hopefully I get to finish this by the end of the year as well.

So that's half of the products that I've included in my project. I will be posting the second part soon. I am really excited with this project because it has motivated me to start using several make up items I have in my stash and to get my money's worth by doing so. I will be posting updates probably every 3 months so you guys can see my progress in this project.

Hope you enjoyed this post and have a wonderful 2018 everyone!
