Etude House Dear My Blooming Cheek : PRODUCT REVIEW

I've been using this product for 2 months now before I had enough time to write this product review.

As I've mentioned in my Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher Review, I prefer seeing ladies with blushers on rather than dark, red lipsticks since it gives them an instant "blooming" look. My satisfaction with the brand's Cookie Blushers led me to buy this product.

The product is available in 4 shades:
PK0001 or Pink Pink
OR201 or Champagne Peach
0R202 or Coral Pink (which I have)
PP501 or Lavender Pink

The product is encased in a clear, plastic compact without any mirror and applicator :(  You need to use a mirror from your face powder / foundation and a separate brush for touch-ups. Unlike the Cookie Blusher, this product has a highlighter that comes along the blusher. For the Coral Pink shade, the highlighter is the one on the left side (orange shade) while the right side is the blusher (pink shade).

The box suggests several ways of using this product. One can use the highlighter and blush separately or you can swirl your brush on the two to create another effect.

Like the Cookie Blusher, this highlighter/blusher has no significant smell. Here's what the product looks like when I swatched it on my fingers.

On my fingers, the product seems quite shimmery and pigmented. It's also quite chalky. When I rubbed my two fingers, the product was easily removed. When I applied it on my arm, it was hardly visible so I gave up the effort of capturing the effect with my camera. When I applied it on my cheeks, here's what the product looks like:

I had to make 3 swipes of the product before it produced a visible effect on the camera. On the first swipe, it mainly produced a shimmery effect but after 2-3 swipes, color became slightly visible. On the other hand, this is what the Lovely Cookie Blusher looks like with just 1 swipe:

So as you can see, the Dear My Blooming Cheek is not as pigmented as its predecessor, Lovely Cookie Blusher. Also, the lasting power of Dear My Blooming Cheek is also not that good. After application, it lasts for around less than an hour on my cheeks. I doubt if it would last for hours even with a good makeup primer on.

To summarize my review:

Pros:
* cute packaging
* comes with a highlighter
*unscented
Cons:
* the price doesn't match its quality (548php or around 14$)
* not quite pigmented
* poor staying power
* no applicator
* no mirror

Verdict: 3.5 stars

If you're looking for a blusher, I suggest you stick with the brand's Lovely Cookie Blusher, it has more shades available, it's more pigmented and it lasts longer ^^
