Although I am pretty low-maintance when it comes to my Hair, there is no better feeling and boost of confidence, when your hair is looking and feeling strong, thick and healthy. Sadly we´re not all blessed with naturally dreamy hair, and I for one have always wanted for long and luscious locks…

If you follow me on Instagram, the likeliness is you would have already spotted my new (miraculously) longer hair… I was born with thick, glossy and strong chocolate brown tresses; unfortunately, I started colouring it at a far too yong age (yes – purple, red, bleach…). It killed my mane, leaving it feeling thin, dry, hard to manage and with split ends (meaning, it never grows past my shoulders). I´ve always considered getting hair extensions, but I rarely saw that natural looking finish I was after. As mentioned, I´m relatively low maintenance when it comes to perfecting my hair, make-up and nails, so the worry was that I would never manage to maintain the glossy look, or most importantly, it wouldn’t look authentic… I was apprehensive to say the least, but I wanted to give it a go – and for once being the one with those long summer locks!

After scouting around for the best place in town, I came across renowned hair salon establishment, Errol Douglas in Belgravia. They don´t specialise in hair extensions, but they offer the service and they came highly recommended. After an initial consultation with the incredible Karis Taylor – she carefully colour matched my hair with their existing palette, and we came to the perfect match. I wanted to continue enhancing my existing balayage effect, so she chose a mix of caramel shades, and darker brown to match my roots.

The result is flawless. The colour is perfection, and I suddenly had this glossy and thick mane! Love it. The application was via tape (not using any glue whatsoever), which meant it was super quick (it took 1.30 hour) and there´s very little damage to your hair, compared to other types of extensions. The overall look, quality of hair and natural-looking effect – was exactly what I was after, and I could not be happier with the end result.

Since having the extensions, I have found so many different ways to style my hair! This look is something I typically would go for on a day-to-day basis, with the waves and natural-looking finish, but I can´t wait to play around with it more; having it poker straight, a long ponytail, side swept… Finally, may hair is actually fun to play with.
