Rockin’ Neutrals

Most of us already have a naturally pink, reddish or dark color on our lips so the Nude lipstick will give you a beautiful, uniform look that will “complete” any makeup look.  Think of neutrals as a CC cream or foundation.  A nude lipstick will nourish your lips and also help you to even out their natural hues.   Also, lighter colors will make the lips appear fuller, so if you are looking for that effect, neutrals are a great alternative.

Remember that neutrals will actually give your lips a tone and texture so as long as you choose the correct shade they won’t erase your lips but actually enhance them. Nudes are shades that look like skin or the natural tone of lips so depending on your skin tone (for instance warmer skins will look great with a brown based nude while fair skins look great in a pinkish nude)

Overall, nude shades will give you the ability to play up different areas of the face.  For instance, are you are wearing smoky eyes or a bright eye look? Nude lips are the perfect compliment!

In this little video, I wanted to show you different ways of “rocking the neutrals.”  As you can see, you can use different formulas of lipstick, lip gloss or even lip liner on its own to create your own version.  Think of using a nude lip shade the same way you would use nude color shoes and accessories.  The reason for this is that they go with EVERYTHING!

Remember that neutral doesn’t mean looking washed-out or like you are not wearing any color- have fun trying out shades and once you find the one(s) that work with your skin, you will fall in love!  Happy playing!
