As we celebrated the fourth annual Asia Pacific finale of the Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ Contest, I was thrilled to lead a project where women not only dream beautiful but they dream big! With more than 50,000 entries from women across Asia Pacific, three aspiring models were chosen as the new “Face of Mary Kay Asia Pacific” and one Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant who showcased exceptional makeup skills was chosen as the “Beauty Artist of Mary Kay Asia Pacific.”
The energy was electrifying at the InterContinental Hotel in Hong Kong on March 20 when more than 800 guests attended the cruise-inspired runway show with 23 pairs of the Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ Contest finalists. The judging panel included international supermodel Coco Rocha, Mary Kay Global Beauty Ambassador Luis Casco, Korean celebrity makeup artist Jung Saem Mool, global fashion and beauty photographer Jason Capobianco, as well as Mary Kay President of Asia Pacific KK Chua, Mary Kay Chief Marketing Officer Sheryl Adkins-Green and Mary Kay Vice President of Global Brand and Design Stephen Webster.
Over the last four years, the Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ Contest has become a platform for Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and their customers to pursue their dreams! Tongtong Wang from China, Mahirah Khan from Malaysia and Bellatrix Tan from the Philippines, were named the new “Face of Mary Kay Asia Pacific” for their outstanding makeup looks and performance on the runway. The Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants who worked in partnership with the winning models were also recognized and crowned “Winning Independent Beauty Consultant of Mary Kay Asia Pacific.” Chrismel Santos from the Philippines was chosen as the new “Beauty Artist of Mary Kay Asia Pacific” for her makeup skills, creativity and passion.
These women embody confidence, passion and elegance! As contest winners, those chosen for the “Face of Mary Kay Asia Pacific” will have the opportunity to star in a Mary Kay campaign in Seoul, Korea. The winning Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant will also join the brand campaign to shadow a professional makeup artist. All of our deserving winners will be recognized in Mary Kay’s Applause magazine and honored in their local markets.
