We started June at Bramham with Wallace in his first Working Hunter class, he surprised us all and was just amazing! Just tapped the planks, knocking us out the placing’s but he jumped a brilliant round. We returned on the Saturday for Pony Club Show jumping, where the crowd was much bigger, the atmosphere got to him and had three down. But hey-ho, what a great experience for a young horse. Hopefully he’ll be back there for the 3* in a few years time… we can dream!

He didn’t really feel himself the week after and we decided to take him to the vets for investigations, after passing my HGV the week before this wasn’t really the first trip I’d hoped for! He had a couple of problems in his mouth and some work done. We think have solved the problem and he has had some time off. He has qualified for the BD Area Fesitvals at the end of

July, which he will now be aimed at before eventing again in August. Hopefully we may have had some rain too to soften the ground (seems so bizarre saying this in the North!).

Last week we had a very Exciting arrival, meet Henry! He has come on loan and has settled into life with us very well. I cannot thank his owner enough for this opportunity, and looking forward to getting him out eventing at Somerford this weekend for Pony Club Area’s and then Warwick Hall later this month.

Finally, we had the Pony Club Area Dressage on Saturday, and in Wallace’s absence, Lorraine Rushton’s Hugo stepped in. He produced a lovely test for 70.88% and finished 2nd in our arena, with our Pendle Forest & Craven team winning and qualifying for the national championships – happy days!
