Supposedly the best place to view sunrise in Jeju and a UNESCO site, this oreum was decided as our next destination in Jeju after the Stone Park. We took a taxi (25 000 KRW I believe - about five times more than a bus would cost, but it took only 40 minutes compared to about twice as much by bus) which dropped us off right under the steep stairs going up.

The Rock on the photo below is connected to a legend - a giantess, carrying dirt in her skirt during the day to create Jeju, sat by this stone at night, placing a lantern on the rock and sewing the skirt which got torn from her work during the day.
