I’ve been keeping my eye out for Gudetama merch in the UK ever since I saw the announcement of his creation by Sanrio sometime last year. If you haven’t seen him before he’s from the same peeps who brought us Hello Kitty and is essentially a lazy egg. It’s a bit strange, but I relate to him so therefore he’s a hit with me. As with a lot of Japanese merch it can be difficult to get hold of in Europe or often watered down or copied, so I was very excited to see that UK retailers, Truffle Shuffle had bagged an exclusive range from this strange little fellow.

With prices starting from £6.99 for a tote and up to £29.99 for a jumper or cushion there’s something for everyone in the range. I’m not a massive fan of the grey backgrounds, I’d prefer black or white with this character, but that’s my only complaint. Hopefully the success of this weird (and slightly creepy) collection will see the arrival of some of the stranger Gutedama merch into the UK and Europe. You can visit the whole collection here.

I’ve shopped with Truffle Shuffle a fair few times and can highly recommend them as a retailer, I’ve always found a great selection of nerdy design and at fair prices with good service.
