New York Fashion Week Review

New York City’s Lincoln Center has once again been lit up for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, which has showcased all of the biggest trends for Spring 2013.

The Trends

COLORS: The runways are bursting with lilac! All pastels are must haves for spring, but the purple shade especially will take you from a day at the beach to a night on the town this season. Earthy tones, like nude, moss, and khaki also make a strong appearance.

INSPIRATION:  Several collections had silhouettes are reminiscent of the 60s, but with a polished twist. Fringe puts a hippie twist on any cocktail dress or vest while loose, baggy pants give a crop top (yes, they’re back!) a chic yet relaxed vibe.

FABRIC:  chiffon, metallic (think candy wrappers), geometric prints, and pleats are going to be huge this coming spring!

Celebrities spotted at NYFW include; the Beckhams, Jessica Alba, Heidi Klum, Nicole Richie, Rita Ora, Christina Ricci, Molly Sims, Dita Von Teese, Rhianna, Justin Bieber, and so many more!
Janelle Monae even performed at Rebecca Minkoff’s show and Naomi Campbell turned heads when she closed out Diane Von Furstenberg’s show.
