Oh my gosh, we went to the DESERT! In Ridiculous news, yes I have visited Las Vegas FOUR TIMES but had never once ventured into the Desert. How silly is that? We’ve planned on renting a car on other trips, but for one reason or another it never seems to work out. We decided that it was too ridiculous and that it was time to actually make it happen, so we ended up booking a tour that took us right where we wanted to be. (Actually, since approaching the ripe ol’ age of 30 I have been OBSESSED with tours. Is this just what happens?!)

So anyway, we did it. We actually went into the desert. The Valley of Fire, specifically on this particular trip (we did another one where we rode E-bikes around Red Rocks canyon too). Funnily enough, despite being armed to the nines with my camera, three lenses (just in case!), two spare batteries and a handful of SD cards, we basically only took about ten photos. And this post has four photos so I’m literally showing you close to half of them! Ha!

All I can really say is: wow. I can’t believe it took us so long to do this. It felt like being on another planet, so it was interesting to find out that a Star Trek episode and lookalike Black Mirror episode were filmed out there. I think that if I had driven myself and not been with a guide I would’ve been more bold in taking ridiculous spacey photos, but nope. Instead you just got my slightly flustered smile as I balanced on a bunch of rocks. Hey, whatever works!
