A Little Bit Rockabilly

I’ve always been super keen on vintage styles – but more along the lines of the 60s and 70s. Pin up has never been my thing (I do admire it on other people though!) – but hey, I’m keen to give it a go, especially since it totally made sense, seeing as my Hair was already done up from my simple 50s poodle hair tutorial. I thought I’d feel a little out of my comfort zone, strolling along the main streets of Bangkok in full Rockabilly style, but there were no weird looks whatsoever. There’s a lot of way weirder stuff to look at around here!

This Dress is an old favourite from the (sadly) now closed Tara Starlet. I kept the same scarf on as in my video tutorial, and the red sandals were popped on to match the red lipstick. I didn’t bring a bag or anything along – because, let’s be honest, the hair is the real statement piece of this look!

Speaking truthfully, I don’t think this is something I’d wear all that often. I LOVE my hair like this – especially since I get total flashbacks to when I dressed as Wilma Flinstone a couple of Halloweens ago – but paired with the dress I just feel a little bit too pin-up compared to my usual self! The dress is beautiful, and I wear it all the time, just altogether I don’t feel quite like the usual Jo. I’m genuinely happy to try out a new look for a day though – especially since it’s my beloved yellow!
