Wearing a Tree of Life necklace has become more fashionable in recent years. They are worn for different reasons, aside from being beautiful pieces of jewelry of course. Many wear a tree of life necklace because they believe that a tree represents life's journey, growing from a seed into a mature tree and then bearing fruit, the seeds from which restart the process. Others refer the wearing of a tree of life necklace to the structure of a family, the tree's roots being the family roots whilst the trunk represents the strength of family bonds and the branches are the members of the family. Some wear the Tree of life Necklace Pendant as a sign of caring for the environment whilst others see the religious significance.

The following steps are presented for those visitors interested in making your own Tree of life Necklace. The steps cover the types of materials required and the tools needed in a simple and easy to follow way so you can make a pendant at home yourself.

THE THINGS WHICH YOU NEEDED
16 gauge round soft wire, wire cutter, 0.3mm round bangle, colorful beads, and gloves


Steps 1 – STARTING THE ROOTS
Take a piece of gauge wire and bend it in the middle. Place the bend that you just made on the bottom of your circle and wrap the gauge wire around the frame 3-4times. You should have tightly coiled wraps when you are finished. Repeat this for the remaining pieces of the wire.



Step 2 – STARTING THE TRUNK
Group all of your wires together at the bottom of the circle frame. Determine how large you want the root systems to be, and start twisting all of the wires together. Keep twisting until the tree trunk is at the desired length. The shorter you make the trunk; the fuller your tree will end up being.



STEP 3 – SEPARATE THE BRANCHES AND TWIST THE BRANCHES
Separate the wires in pairs to make tree branches. When you are finished separating then, you should have four branches in your hand. Now the branches have been separated start twisting each wire pair together. Make 5-8 twists. Once you are finished with this , you will end up with four branches.


STEP 4 – ADD LEAVES
Starting with the first branch add stone beads to the wire. Once you have added the beads to branch, take the wire and wrap it tightly around the frame 3-4 times. Don’t cut off the wire yet. Repeat for each branch until all of them have leaves.



Step 5 - CUT OFF EXCESS WIRES
Once you are sure each branch is positioned the way that you want it , the way that you want it, cut off the excess wire. Don’t forget to use your wire cutter to push the cut ends down against the frame so that they are not poking up anymore.


Step 6 – FINISH THE ROOTS
Once you are finished with the branches I like to go back and bend the roots to give them a more natural look. Feel free to leave them neat and straight if you look how that looks. Add your tree of life pendant to cord of your choice and it is ready to wear.
