The summer is coming up, so we’d like to show you some nice sandals to help you get through the season. What’s better than a pair of Hermes shoes that’s detailed with one of the house’s most precious symbols? Well, let’s find out. Meet the Hermes Rivage Sandals.
The Design
The Rivage Sandals look quite simple, but there is a hidden story. First of all, Rivage means shore or coast in French. This name is given because they’re ideal to wear for the beach or any place in the world with a lot of sunshine. Secondly, if you’re familiar with Hermes, you will recognize the chain pattern on the straps. They’re actually detailed with the Chaine D’Ancre design, which was discovered by Robert Dumas (a member of the Hermes family) in 1938. He took inspiration from ship anchors, thus explains the connecting-chain look.
These shoes are made from PVC.
