Lakme Absolute Moonlit Highlighter Review

A gem from the Lakme Illuminating makeup range, the Lakme Moon Lit Highlighter is something which I have been eyeing on for a very long time. It is a beautiful highlighter and bronzer in one with hints of shimmer in silver and gold.

Lakme had the same highlighter few years back and have relaunched it again as a part of this sabyasachi collection. This illuminating collection is beautifully designed for the festive season and aims at creating “lit from within” skin with a luminous glow. Here is my review of this gorgeous highlighter from the lakme collection.
The highlighter comes in a classic Lakme black packaging. The packing is sturdy with a transparent flip open lid. You can see the product inside which is a good thing but I would have personally preferred a mirror to touch up on the go. The product is pressed in a checkered pattern which looks oh so beautiful.

The shade is a combination of a stunning powder highlighter and a bronzer. I prefer a matte bronzer as it creates a more chiselled face but the highlighter is simply beautiful. The Moon Lit Highlighter is a champagne shade so it will suit fair to medium Indian skin tones. The gold based bronzer has to be used very subtly as it can go wrong very easily.

The pigmentation is something which can be improved upon. The darker shade has a decent pigmentation but the lighter one shows up only on multiple swipes.
I use the lakme absolute moon lit highlighter on the highest points of my face such as the cheekbones, forehead, nose, and chin, to add to the dewy look. The good thing about this product is that the shimmer is very fine and not gritty.

One thing I love about this product is that it is a 3 in 1 product. I use it as a natural blush by swirling the brush over the two shades apart from using the highlighter and bronzer separately.
Lakme has really made these illuminating collection products much better than the products from the normal ranges in terms of quality. They look regal and have finesse to them. The packaging has also been upgraded.

Indoor Lighting

The darker shade of the lakme highlighter will be perfect for getting a warm tanned skin in summers. It will also be a good neutral blush if used correctly. The staying power is good with 5-6 hours of wear.

Outdoor Lighting

Pretty:
• A perfect multipurpose product with a blush, highlighter, and bronzer in one.
• Great classy packaging with checkered pattern
• The pigmentation is good.
• The shimmer is finely milled and doesn’t look chunky.
• Great quantity for the price.
Not So Pretty:
• It is very easy to go wrong with this product as the shimmer can be too much.
• I would have preferred a mirror over the see through flip case.
Overall, this lakme absolute highlighter is a good mix of highlighting and contouring if you handle it the right way. The darker shade will be good for medium skin tones as a gorgeous glowy blush. It blends well and gives a very subtle sheen to the skin.
