YELLOW

Here today and here tomorrow, there's no brake from yellow. Since I've gradually been sharing more about myself ,I'm not as "yellow" to do it . Here this color means cowardly. However it offers us a brighter future if you look into the  meaning and psychology of this brilliant color.

Yellow – Optimistic, Cheerful, Playful & Happy

Being the color of sunshine, it puts a smile on the dial. It is the most visible color from a distance (which is why it’s used for street signs) and communicates cheerfulness, friendliness, joy and energy (who doesn’t need more yellow in their life?) It can also be associated with mental clarity and intellect.

In my opinion color has underlying meanings in fashion .When looking at the global circumstances , especially in the U.S. , people are looking for optimism and hope.Therefore darlings dress yourself in the brightest yellow and goto the polls this fall . Moreover that optimism may be what it takes to defeat that yellow haired monster.

While I don't believe that colors have magical powers they do have energy. Therefore the prediction of  purple being the color of the year may have been surpassed. In fact dandelion , canary and lemon are hot now in Summer 2018. While looking towards the fall, Ceylon, gold and mustard are prime shades.

SPRING/SUMMER 2018

While "Millennium Pink" is fading gently into our memories, "Gen Z Yellow " has taken it's place . Here we are in the peak of summer and yellow like the sunshine is just beaming . Since all the major summer sales are on or over now's the time to pick the remaining daffodils .  Therefore let me help you select the great pieces that will take you into fall.

WEARING BRIGHT, BOLD YELLOW

Since this cheery tone is hot this Spring/Summer what do we expect for Fall ? First thing is all the shades are hot this coming Fall/Winter. Second there is a shade for almost everyone. In fact I have said many times that these tones are not the easiest to wear. Therefore you need to be careful when choosing yellow hues. Here are my tips on how to wear them for your skin tone.

TIPS

• Light to fair skin tone: Mustard and dark shades will complement your skin tone the best. Pastelcan work on you as well but always make sure it doesn't wash you out.
• Medium to olive skin tone: Stick to bright and vibrant hues as these will make you glow!
• Tan to black skin tone: Most shades of this color will look amazing on you!

Certainly I know some of you are afraid of yellow . Therefore avoid a span of yellow next to your face, choose patterns with just specks of this color . Furthermore wear it on the bottom of your look, pants , skirts and accessories. Soon you'll discover the  perfect  shade or shades for you.

YELLOW LOOKS

Here are four of my favorite fashion bloggers wearing yellow .  While all have their own unique styles they also show 4 different ways of wearing yellow.

First the beautiful stylish Blair Eadie of Atlantic/Pacific  wears a gold top with a circle skirt. Although Blair has a pale complexion the golden tone looks lovely against her skin.

Second Wendy Nguyen  of Wendy's Lookbook  has chosen this beautiful dark mustard tone. However the mustard is on the bottom and paired with a beautiful burgundy jacket . Therefore the on trend mustard skirt is not against Wendy's face and the color combination really pops.

Third Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior wears a paler pastel  jumpsuit . Since Jacey has blonde hair and a slight tan the pastel  is a lovely choice .

Fourth is Annabelle Fleur of VivaLuxury , I love this bright marigold color.  Annabelle has a skin tone that allows her to easily pull off almost any of these shades.

YELLOW FOR FALL 2018

THE RUNWAY'S FOR FALL SHOW BRIGHT, BOLD YELLOWS

When looking at the runways for fall/winter 2018 certain colors  stood out. While we have pinks and the nod to ultra violet we also have orange and yellow. Since I covered orange the other week to much applause , it's time for it's much maligned cousin yellow.

Since Spring and Summer worked well with this lemony hue let's have a look at what Fall and Winter have to offer. With this in mind, Patone named one of the brightest shades Ceylon, and this tone hit the runaway in a big way . Roskanda, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Marc Jacobs highlighted  this vibrant shade for the upcoming season.

Especially daring we saw outerwear from mustard to lemon  . While Michael Kors chose mustard for its tartan jackets, Balanciaga gave us signature overcoats made from buttery check wools . Moreover the  shades we saw were neon at Balmain , and my favorite ,the saffron coats from Moschino.

In conclusion the bright ,bold shades of yellow have us all under their spell. While it is still summer it's not long till fall is here , shop and you'll be prepare. Since I'm always a lover of fun fashion I add this great color to the mix. In fact I can see the great coats shown here in a winter storm or against that snowy background. Generally speaking color is one of the strongest elements of fashion . Therefore consider wearing some of the brighter color trends this F/W and have some fun.
