Weekend Getaway With Courtyard By Marriott Agra

After around 3 hours of driving on the beautiful expressway, we found our way to Courtyard by Marriott Agra. The first thing I noticed, and loved, were the marble interior decors of the entire property. Table tops, flooring, bathroom fittings and everything else that could possibly be marble, was! And I was not complaining at all! It was exactly what you’d expect and hope for in the city of Taj! The decor of the Foyer and the Reception was right up my alley! I love contemporary aesthetics, and the bright pops of Yellow paired with selective mirroring in a few places completely elevated the entire visual appeal. So lively, modern, young and inviting! And that little centre piece fountain with the floating Genda Phools added just the perfect blend of ‘Indian’ to the mix.

A warm reception with tilaks & welcome drinks and a few check-in formalities later, we were escorted to our room that had an open view of the city.

Our room was a vision in White with an accent of Lime Green and some Browns to compliment it. You can probably guess by the looks of it, we got some beautiful natural light in the room courtesy the gigantic window. I wasn’t going to miss out on the chance to shoot some gorgeously lit pictures right then and there! So even before P could settle his tired tushy down on the bed for a second of rest, I got to clicking. ; )

If you don’t already know what the first thing on our agenda post unwinding was, you don’t know us at all! : P
We changed into our swim wear and hit the pool! Swimming pools are always one of the first things we look at on finalising a hotel to stay in. A clean, Blue and beautiful Pool can really bring all the difference to a staycation, and it did! We had so much fun inside our weekend abode thanks to the pool, that we had to literally push ourselves out of the hotel the 1 time that we did go out!

While we were on our pool escapade, we happened to sneak peeks of Courtyard by Marriott’s beautiful property. On exploring their premises, we discovered some beautiful nooks and corners with the most stunning details inspired by the Mughal Architecture. While they have majorly modern and contemporary aesthetics inside the hotel, outdoor was where all the Mughal magic was hiding. Every turn we took while exploring the property led us to a gorgeous facet!

Over our 2 nights stay, we thoroughly enjoyed their restaurant – Momo Cafe & cafe – Momo 2 Go . The breakfast buffet was everything I hope for in a hotel as a vegetarian, and the staff was incredibly sweet. Everybody from Chef Kranti, to our table waiting person Chandan went out of their ways to make us feel special. We were lucky enough to have the pleasure of experiencing & tasting some of Mr. Kranti’s Chef Specials, and to say that I was floored by the presentation and the sweet gesture would be a massive understatement!
I happened to mention to Chef Kranti that I was a vegetarian and couldn’t have any eggs, and he had the sweet Ms. Shrishti at the waffle bar dish out a yummy helping of eggless ones especially catered to me! Our experience in Momo Cafe and how well we were treated, the warmth and hospitality extended towards us by the staff was truly the highlight of our stay with Courtyard by Marriott. They went above and beyond to make sure we took back wonderful memories from our short time with them!

If you’re looking to enjoy this beautiful weather with a weekend getaway from Delhi, Courtyard By Marriott Agra is a lovely place to enjoy your stay. With the perfect blend of contemporary and heritage, it’s got a little something to offer everyone!
Their pristine & beautiful property, sweet as sugar staff, delectable food and a crystal Blue pool left us with nothing less than some fabulous times to look back on.
Our only regret?….Wish we had more time! : )
