Did you guys know? Between April 22nd and 28th, Fashion Revolution Week takes place virtually, in order to raise awareness towards ethical concerns regarding manufacturing of garments and the business of fashion as a whole.
You can join in by posting a photo on your Instagram (or your favorite social media platform) with you holding an inside out piece of clothing so that the tag is visible and ask the brand “Who Made My Clothes?”
Why Fashion Revolution?
On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed.
1,138 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history.
That’s when Fashion Revolution was born.
There were five garment factories in Rana Plaza all manufacturing clothing for the western market. The victims were mostly young women.
Fashion Revolution Organization believes that 1,138 is too many people to lose from the planet in one building, on one terrible day to not stand up and demand change.
Since then, people from all over the world have come together to use the power of fashion to change the world.
Fashion Revolution is now a global movement of people like you.
This Project’s Vision
We believe in a fashion industry that values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure.
Fashion Revolution celebrates fashion as a positive influence while also scrutinizing industry practices and raising awareness of the fashion industry’s most pressing issues. They aim to show that change is possible and encourage those who are on a journey to create a more ethical and sustainable future for fashion.
Fashion Revolution strives to be action-oriented and solution focused. Rather than making people feel guilty, they help them recognize that they have the power to do something to make a positive change.

I’ve always been a big fan of H&M and Tommy Hilfiger so I would like to ask both these brands #WhoMadeMyClothes I’ll be posting on my Instagram tomorrow so please follow along to see if I get an answer.
I know H&M has started bringing more and more ethically made garments through their Conscious collections, but I am really curious how the more affordable items (that we all love) are made.
