Kalelicious Smoothie Copycat Recipe

Indulging in a fresh Kalicious Smoothie from Whole Foods is one of my favorite things when I need a quick boost of energy in the morning. But the truth is that I’m not always in the mood the put clothes on, hop in the car and make a trip to the store. Especially when all the ingredients are already in the fridge and the music is on at full volume, making it harder to get out the door.

So I decided to start making my own Kalelicious Smoothie and wanted to share it with you. Trust me, it’s very easy! Plus, you can extend it with other ingredients if you prefer, like baby spinach, celery or shredded carrots – or virtually anything you can imagine in a smoothie.

I usually add a scoop of protein and a packet of Green Superfood powder to my smoothies, but you don’t have to. My favorite protein is the Collagen Beauty Greens by Vital Proteins because I feel like it makes my skin look and feel better. Maybe it’s just a placebo, but hey… works for me

I also substitute dairy Milk with Almond or Macadamia Milk. Coconut milk works great too, but I prefer almond because it contains less fat. If I need extra fat, I add an avocado. The avocado gives it extra creaminess, especially together with the banana.

Add a pinch of Turmeric…

And chop, chop!!

The ingredient that makes the Kalelicious Smoothie unique is lemon juice and lemon zest. So squeeze a few slices of lemon and grate some peel into the blender.

Last step is adding some milk and golden berries to the mixture. Now that we have all the ingredients thrown in the blender (don’t forget the banana), it’s time to blend in…

Yeah, science!!

Thanks so much for reading! As usual, much love
