It was a long night for many who anxiously watched the 2016 Presidential Election results tally on their screen.
And for many, they are waking up to the news that Donald Trump is the new president-elect of this country.
Emotions are running high as a nation is standing divided.
Despite months of racist, misogynistic and hateful rhetoric on the campaign trail, the electoral votes in favor of Trump stood tall over Hillary Clinton’s – 276 to 218 – while Clinton won the popular vote.
All night and this morning, south Asians have been voicing their dismay on Twitter over the news of Trumps election to office.
