Earlier this year we published our Top 5 SEO Predictions 2015. Prediction number two was that we would start to see improved visibility and indexation of Twitter. Well, This has been confirmed in a deal struck between the two companies. Twitter and Google have signed a deal which will allow real time Tweets to appear in search results.

What does this Mean?

Google are to include real time tweets in search results, Bloomberg reports. We should start seeing these real time tweets within the first half of 2015. Twitter has over 284 million users. Data from these users will instantly be indexed and appear in search results. This has done away with the usual crawl based method, and now the tweets are submitted directly.

This is not unprecedented. Twitter already provides data directly to Bing and Yahoo. A similar agreement had been in place between the Twitter and Google from 2009 to 2011.
