Service models

1) SaaS (software-as-a-service): SaaS is a type of software that can deploy on the internet. SaaS is a part of cloud computing because its software is hosted on the internet or cloud. It provides software as its service.

2) IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-service): It provides high-level APIs. It is a method of delivering everything from operating systems to servers. It is a delivery of complete infrastructure as a service. It uses services like OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, or OpenNebula. IBM Cloud and Microsoft Azure include the Iaas system.

3) PaaS (Platform-as-a-service): As a business platform that provides the on-demand atmosphere for designing, testing, distributing, and managing software applications are referred to as a platform as a service. It helps in building web or mobile apps easily and more quickly without managing other things like servers, storage, network, and databases, etc. Salesforce.com and Heroku are a common example of PaaS.

Different Types of Cloud Computing (Deployment models)

The cloud is categorized into three types

2) Public cloud: When the cloud is delivered over the public network is called the public cloud. It comes free as well as with paid subscription depending upon the facilities available. As the name indicate, its services such as applications, storage, and other resources are shared by multiple customers. An example of a public cloud is Google Drive.

3) Hybrid computing: Hybrid computing is the combination of features of both public and private computing. It gives your business more flexibility and more implementation choices and other features enabling data and applications to migrate between both clouds.

Cloud in business

A recent study by IDC, a global market intelligence firm, shows that more than 60% of India’s business enterprises plan to leverage cloud platforms for digital innovation and this number is gradually increasing day by day. Covid-19 crisis drove many people online. The small business turned to technology to survive the pandemic which automatically put more and more load on the cloud. Today is the era of the cloud.
