Grab a team for the Great Dayton Adventure Race
The Great Dayton Adventure Race is back after July’s rain check. This Friday, grab a team of four and race for cash and prizes at the third annual event, starting at the Trolley Stop on 5th street. Most of us are familiar with the concept of live collaboration, using tools like Google-Docs to collaborate on writing projects in real-time. With the new interface design tool called Figma, designers can make digital projects as a group, working in real-time to edit elements on the screen. Best of all, there is a “code mode,” enabling coders and designers to work together to build and present digital products such as smartphone apps.
Prepare for the 2017 Solar Eclipse
A total nationwide solar eclipse will occur this Monday, August 21st for the first time since 1918. This celestial event happens when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, blocking out the sun’s light. This year’s solar eclipse is already being predicted as the most-viewed event in human history. With help from social media, millions of people in the U.S. (and around the world) who cannot witness the eclipse in person will turn to live video feeds and social media posts to experience the wonders of the eclipse.
