SAMIR NASRI EYES MORE MANCHESTER CITY TROPHIES

Samir Nasri hopes Manchester City's Capital One Cup success will be a springboard to more silverware this season after their victory over Sunderland.

French ace Nasri was named man of the match as City came from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1 and lift the first trophy of the season.

After Yaya Toure had drawn City level with a stunning effort Nasri gave City the lead less than a minute later wiith a brilliant goal of his own before substitute Jesus Navas put the game beyond brave Sunderland.

City are still battling on all fronts as they look to complete an unprecedented quadruple and Nasri Hopes the Wembley success will boost their confidence to as they try to win every honour on offer.

"I hope so, we want to win to everything," Nasri told Sky Sports 1HD. "We are going to compete for the league, the FA Cup and we are going to try to make something happen in Champions League even if it's going to be difficult, but I hope this cup is going to bring confidence to the team and we will fight to end."

Nasri was delighted to pick up a winners medal after losing in his previous two finals at Wembley, with City in the FA Cup final defeat to Wigan last season and the League Cup with Arsenal in 2011.

"I have so much joy, so much pride as well," added Nasri. "I lost my two finals I played here and today was really important to win.

"Out first half was a little bit of the memories of the game against Wigana nd second half we came out and scored three goals.

"I am really happy and I hope this cup is going to bring some others."

Nasri admits they were always confident of turning things around against Sunderland despite a below-par showing in the first half

"We were still confident, we just said we have to stay calm and remain focused and to play our football, to play higher up with more tempo and we will make the difference and that is what we did," concluded Nasri.
