Activision Blizzard deal ongoing until final completion | Kaser Focus

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard is moving forward despite the FTC’s appeal and request for a stay on the deal. The U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority is also discussing the acquisition with Microsoft. However, the deadline for the discussion has been extended to August.

A survey conducted by the Video Game History Foundation and the Software Preservation Network revealed that 87% of games made before 2010 are critically endangered. These games are no longer easily accessible on modern consoles, and while remakes are being made, it is not feasible to remake every game individually.

New games to play this week include Exoprimal, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, Jagged Alliance 3, Gravity Circuit, Testament: The Order of High Human, Arena Breakout, and Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg.

There are also new games available on subscription services such as Common’hood and Insurgency: Sandstorm on Xbox Game Pass, When the Past was Around on Xbox Games with Gold, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Prime Gaming, Nairi: Tower of Shirin on Prime Gaming, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on GeForce Now, and Ridiculous Fishing EX on Apple Arcade.
