This platform expands soccer talent spotting to the masses with AI technology.

Darren Peries founded Aiscout, an app that enables Young Footballers to have a second chance at fulfilling their dream of becoming a professional football player. The platform provides a virtual trial where players can perform athletic and technical drills and be rated by an AI scoring system. The app was developed following Peries’ son’s release by Spurs, which led to the creation of a system that collects data and game footage in Youth Football where there is often a lack of infrastructure. The data collected includes the player’s biomechanics, technique, and athletic prowess measured down to the minutiae. The best players are invited to show off their on-the-ball skills and are given feedback delivered through the app within an hour. The system offers a second chance to both players and scouts, as it helps to keep tabs on the progress of young footballers who were previously discarded. The platform’s COO and director of sport science, Richard Felton-Thomas, notes that academies often have a “win now” mentality, which often results in smaller, yet-to-mature players being let go. Now, players can be back in the system via AiSCOUT, keeping scouts informed of their progress and providing young players with a chance to be scouted by top clubs. Recently, Andre Odeku was scouted via AiSCOUT and signed for Burnley’s academy. The platform has the potential to revolutionize the way youth football is scouted, giving talented players a chance to shine.
