Pakistan is one of the most populous country in the world. And almost half of the population comprises of Women. But according to research, the number of women in technical industry is very less as compared to men. The main reason of lesser number of women in computer science field is gender gap. Mostly women are being discouraged from preceding their career in computer science field.In other countries the number of women who have participated in this field of software development is impressive. In Pakistan, the number of women professors teaching technological field/ computer science in collages and universities seems to be even worse.The amount of computer scientist we are producing today will become half of our need in the next coming years due to tremendous increase in demand.
How can we overcome this lackness?
According to modern research , we should encourage the women by using following approaches.
- Conduct Mentor-ship training program.
- Holding equality is organization’s responsibility.
- Avoid referral hiring.
- Minimize subjective evaluation criteria.
- Transparency in pay decisions.
