- Web Server - PHP virtually work with all Web Servers, including the Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) but then the most often used is the freely available Apache Webserver. You can download Apache for free from their official Apache website.
- Database - PHP will work virtually with all database softwares, including Sybase and Oracle database but the most commonly used is the freely available MySQL database. You can download MySQL for free from the MySQL official website.
- PHP Parser - To process PHP script instructions, then a parser must be installed to produce Html output that can be sent to the web browser. This tutorial post will guide you on how to install PHP Parser on your system.

Before proceeding, it is very important to make sure you have a proper environment set up on your machine to develop your web application using PHP.
