The city of Riverside always strives to become more sustainable in a variety of different ways. They like create a community that is well educated in environmental issues, and involved together as a team to help those issues. Riverside has created an event on April 23, 2016 called Riverside Green Festival and Summit to help raise awareness for a more sustainable city. Riverside has curated a Green Festival that will have interactive outdoor activities, lectures and workshops, and movies with discussions. After the Green Festival, they have organized a summit that will allow the residents to interact and input ways the community can team up with the residents to raise a "greener" city. Some of the topics that will be discussion throughout this event are the local foods, waste prevention and reuse, cityscapes, and wildlife, watersheds, and native plants.
